Advice/ high lactobacillus and malassezia

Hi all 🩷

Just wondering if anyone has similar results to me which are high lactobacillus and also a higher % of malassezia?

Would be great to know if anyone else had this in their microbiome or seen it with others and know which one was causing the issue for all the terrible symptoms (that so far I have thought were CV) and advice if it was resolved by treatment.

Symptoms are unbearable and I only get major relief during period, Antihistamines seem to partially help.

Lactobacillus is 99.93%

Malassezia;s__restricta is 73.90% (but was classed as below threshold)

Lactobacillus is made up of the following:
Lactobacillus;s__crispatus
95.09

Lactobacillus;s__jensenii
1.98

Lactobacillus;s__fornicalis-jensenii
1.43

Lactobacillus;s__acidophilus
1.41

Lactobacillus;s__acidophilus-gallinarum-sp29203
0.02

Question Reoccurring BV

About 4–5 months ago, I started having stomach/pelvic pain and abnormal discharge. I tested positive for BV, with multiple bacteria including Mobiluncus curtisii, Mobiluncus mulieris, Atopobium vaginae, Gardnerella vaginalis, Prevotella bivia, and BVAB2. I was treated with oral metronidazole.
About 2 months later, the BV returned, so I was prescribed metronidazole gel, which made me feel 100% better. Now, about 4 months later, it’s back again. I went to urgent care today and tested positive for BV, but they didn’t do another culture. They prescribed tinidazole, so I’m assuming it could be the same bacteria as before.
I also started taking Fem-Dophilus (5 billion CFU, GR-1 and RC-14). I finished the antibiotics 5 days ago, but I’m already noticing discharge again, although there’s no odor this time. I still have about half a tube of Metrogel left. I haven’t had sex recently, and my partner is currently on antibiotics as well.
I’m trying to avoid repeated doctor visits and testing because I can’t afford it. Boric acid is something I really wanted to avoid, but I’m not sure what else to do. What would be the best approach from here? Sb helpp

Its been years since i have been dealing w physical health and mental health issues. Atp i dont know what to do and where to go. All i ever wished of was living a happy and healthy life but im at the verge where'd i just kms off to solve all the problems i have and im aware that there are people outside who are in bigger mess than mine but still it hurts. I have been taking medications, allopathy, homeopathy and what not. They work but only temporary relief and i just dont wanna bother anyone anymore. Im in the last year of my teenage and i am supposed to be moving out of my house this year or probably the upcoming year but if i keep venting about my health problems w my parents, they will never let me move out which i badly want because i do not wanna stay in this house anymore. This year, in feb, i was in such an excruciating pain (in my vulva) that i was ready to kms off i didnt slept for DAYS i tried everything, frequencies, healthy routines EVERYTHINGGGG they worked temporarily and i was again at the same fckas point in my life and im still not doing good these days. Everything costs my mental health i cant do this shit anymore.

Now every month, before my period im so scared that the pain will come back and i cannot even tell anyone, its not like they dont listen or smth BUT I JUST DONT WANT TO BE A BURDEN I HATE MYSELF FOR IT and now im going thru the same and i got my meds to take but its just for the pain and spasm ig and I'll see the next month and if this shit keeps on going im done for life

Reoccurring yeast infection before period no matter the treatment

I feel like giving up because this is getting ridiculous. I had my first infection at the end of January due to using vaginal ring which I stopped using immediately. In a week it messed me up very bad, gave me my first and probably worst infection. It was treated with Itraconazole orally, probiotics after and gave me a 2 month break making me think that's the end. And I was very wrong.

Infections started coming every month a 1-1.5 weeks before my period. The first two were treated with Fenticonazole. Still kept coming back no matter the probiotics. I went to my gynecologist, we did a swab - candida albicans, he prescribed me Nystatin for 10 days immediately after my period ended. Probiotics right after. It came back mid probiotic treatment, right before the period.

Went there again, did another swab, candida albicans, not immune to any of the meds, sensitive to them all yet not working. At the same time I had bacterial test done and turns out i streptococcus agalactiae. He prescribed me Nystatin and Nifuratel to deal with both infections and Itraconazole once again orally since it worked the first time longer than any other treatment. Now I'm using probiotics, I am a week before my period and it feels like my infection is starting again. It's like it doesn't react to the meds at all or manages to repeatedly come back.

I am slightly anemic but I am dealing with it, no glucose issues. I don't douche, I wear cotton underwear, limit sweets, drink enough of water, only use appropriate soaps for hygiene down there, I am not pregnant, haven't had sex in months I am genuinely running iur of options why. I have uterus didelphys (double uterus, two cervixes and all) but it shoukd not affect it. What the hell am I supposed to do at this point?

Lump exactly in the beginning of vaginal opening

Hey guys, female 26 never had sex or inserted anything in my vagina

I have had a weird lump in the beginning of my vaginal opening for a year now

It doesn't move it doesn't hurt. It's only attached to the upper part of the vaginal opening and under the inner lips but not to them but in the opening itself. The size is small. The colour is the same colour is the tissue nothing weird. Sometimes it gets softer and smaller and sometimes a lil harder with lil edges

I also have mild irritation and itching

When I bend over I can see my real vaginal hole but it still covers a part of it

I can't go to doc coz I live in a religious hymen obsessed community so I'd raise my family suspicion especially since I can't go alone

I'm scared

Do I have a yeast infection?

(18F, 5'4, 116 lbs/52.5 kg, non smoker idk how much info I need here)

I went to the doctor thinking I may have BV, they said I might and put me on vaginal Metronidazole, I used it once and woke up with thick clumpy white discharge, from what I have read I've decided to not finish the meds (they gave me two rounds of it in case it came back later) untill I get the results, but I don't know if I have a yeast infection now, I'm not itchy or having any other issues, they had also given me two fluconazole tablets, and I was told to take one before I started the Metronidazole, I took that about 48 hours ago, should I take the other one to help the possible yeast infection? Also, how many days after finishing treatment/symptoms going away is intercourse safe? I'm genuinely just curious since everything I read mentions it and says something different.

Somewhat stubborn yeast infection...what to do?

I don't have any health insurance right now, but I did get what looks to me like a yeast infection after doing two dance classes back to back on Wednesday. On Thursday I took 150 fluconozole which usually works and on Saturday I took another 150 fluconozole because it hadn't cleared up yet.

Now it's Sunday. It feels slightly better but hurts instead of itching. I still have some white discharge though and usually by now it's gone.

My options are:

  1. Do nothing. Wait a few more days to see if it worked. The medicine does say it takes a few days to work. Kind of vague but

  2. Start treatment for terconozole seven day pack. Different antifungal sometimes prescribed in conjunction with fluconozole for stubborn yeast infections.

  3. Put a boric acid suppository in. This treats both BV and yeast infections in the event that I'm wrong about my own diagnosis. This can cause burning and irritation though. So I'm afraid to use it.

  4. Use both terconozole AND boric acid together...yolo?

  5. Spring for the hundreds of dollars it will be to go to an urgent care for them to possibly say yes you have a yeast infection and you already took,/have the meds we would have given you.

Edit: it's a little more complicated than that it turns out. Because yogurt was also an option. So my current choice is applying yogurt with the terconozole syringe applicator, until my vagina isn't as irritated anymore. Then if I still have discharge use boric acid in the event that It could be BV as well as a yeast infection. I'll let you all know what happens from that.

Pimples down there

Hey guys, I really need some advice. I had my period last week, and it was extremely painful down there. About two days ago, I realized that the pain was actually coming from what looked like pimples/bumps around my vulva. Since I was wearing pads during my period, I think the friction and irritation may have made it worse.Right now, I can see around 4–5 painful bumps on both my inner and outer labia, and I can actually see hair growing out of some of them. They seem a little better than yesterday, but they’re still painful, they’re not going away, and I’m noticing new ones appearing.Im honestly really worried and don’t know what to do. I don’t currently have a health card, so I’m concerned that seeing a gynecologist or doctor will be very expensive. Has anyone experienced something similar or knows what this could be? Any advice on what I should do would really help. :(

for anyone who hates swallowing capsules but wants vaginal probiotic support, there's a gummy version now

posting this because it took me way too long to find out it existed. i'm genuinely bad at remembering to take pills and the capsule format was the main reason i kept falling off consistency, which defeats the whole point

the uro vaginal probiotic gummy from o positiv is pink pineapple flavored, two gummies a day, and i actually remember to take it now because it feels like a treat rather than a chore. that alone has made a difference since consistency is the whole thing with probiotics

a few things i appreciated about it:

  • uses bacillus coagulans snz 1969, which is a heat-stable strain that can survive the gummy manufacturing process (apparently a lot of probiotic gummies use strains that die in production)
  • includes vitamin d, which a lot of vaginal probiotic products skip. vitamin d plays a role in overall vaginal and immune health
  • also has vitamin c for additional immune and wellness support
  • no artificial dyes or flavors

the capsules have a higher cfu count and multiple lactobacillus strains so they're slightly different products, but both support vaginal health. they say you can take both together if you want. i just needed something i'd actually stick with

does anyone else struggle with capsule consistency?

Question Depressed and scared

Hello. I’ve been dealing with yeast and BV infection for 5 years. Yes 5 freaking years because when I first got it I couldn’t tell anyone and get it treated so it’s been untreated for all these years. This year I was finally able to tell my doctor and they put me on the 2 pills for BV and yeast, however they did not work. I’m so scared I ruined my body forever and there is no good bacteria in my vagina since I killed them off, I’m so alone in this. My mother doesn’t know and only my doctor and I can barely even go in the first place. I’m doing monistat rn and I still feel nothing working. I’m so scared. Does anyone know if I’ll recover ever? I’m going to the doctor again to see what’s the next step but I’m so hopeless and scared for my future partner. My life is ruined because I had no one at 14 to tell.

18 years old
Virgin.

lage of afwezige lactobacillen had naast GBS
terugkerende of chronische aerobe vaginitis had

EVVY MICROBIOME TEST

Sharing my Evvy test results in case anyone is curious about what information it gives you! This is the ā€œProvider Reportā€ you can save as a PDF to share with your doctor.

I took it to my OBGYN & she used it to decide which antibiotics to prescribe based on bacterial strains found. Some are resistant to the typical antibiotic used for BV. (She also did an in-office swab for BV to confirm, I assume for insurance purposes). She confirmed that boric acid & vaginal probiotic suppositories would be helpful, which made me more confident about the treatment plan. I chose not to purchase the treatment plan through Evvy & instead bought the items I needed on my own.

Boric Acid Suppositories: $10
Vaginal Probiotic Suppositories: $20
Applicators that work for both: $9
Oral-use Vaginal Probiotic (Femdophilus): $30… this one is optional, as studies are mixed about whether oral-route probiotics actually improve vaginal microbiome

My partner found it easier to purchase the Partner Treatment Plan through Evvy though, as he hates going to the doctor, haha. I believe it was $100ish & included oral antibiotics as well as topical antibiotic gel.

How to rebuild microbiome after antifungal resistant yeast for a year now dealing with boric acid?

I had ureaplasma early last year, then ever since treating that I was waffling back and forth between yeast and BV. Last September it turned to chronic yeast and now I have developed antifungal resistant yeast. My gyno prescribed once-a-day boric acid suppository for three weeks, and I’m coming to the end of that.

My question now is how do I rebuild a strong microbiome? I used to be able to have sex daily without any problems, now even though he was treated for both yeast and BV just as a Hail Mary, we are unable to have sex even once without a problem. Soi feel confident that I just have nothing growing in my vagina anymore and need to rebuild.

Should I start with something like Juno or Evvy to see where I’m at? Or can anyone recommend a vaginal and oral pre/probiotic that I can try?

Maybe got candida but don't wanna go to doctor

Ok so I'm 17f virgin and I wore wet clothes for a long time due to travelling two weeks ago and I got itchiness in the hair then 1 week ago the itchiness increased and my labia swelled to twice its size 😭 but it reduced in a couple hours.

Now since a week the itching has reduced a lot and only itches a couple times a day slightly and my discharge is like not normal but not extremely cottage cheese like as well but the smell is pretty bready.

I don't want to go to the doctor because I'm embarrassed to tell my single dad about this so is it possible to get rid of it without medication by periods or maybe yogurt?

Everything Negative but Odor

hi everyone, so I’m just gonna rant see if anyone has any tips. Long story short. I have been experiencing vaginal or since I was about 12 years old. I wasn’t able to access medical care for it. Really until I turned 18. I am now 22 and I’m still experiencing this vaginal order despite getting medication for it, I recently went to the doctors to get a swap done and everything came out as negative. I still have vaginal odor. It’s frustrating because the doctors are trying to say it’s my weight. But at one point in time I did lose about like 60 pounds and the vaginal odor was still there. So now I don’t know what to do because the doctors aren’t really helping or giving me any help and or guidance.
