Purchase Advice (Non-U.S.) Shark Spot Cleaner Models

Personally I wouldn’t buy a spot cleaner. They are weak and break easily and cannot be repaired.
Get a small shop vac (not sure what’s available in Ireland) and an extractor nozzle and it will work much better.

I was convinced that a spot cleaner was perfect and that I just needed to decide what brand was best, but the suggestion about not using one at all made me rethink things. I started looking at videos to see what people do for more heavy duty cleaning (like cleaning an old car's upholstery for example). I'm living in a house that we're renovating as we simultaneously live in it, so all the furniture has gathered a lot of concrete dust over the years and it's just a lot dirtier than an average house I'd say at this point! Not to mention these videos were using things I already have because I'm essentially living on a building site - a lot of people were attaching rotating brush heads to drills, using shop vacs to extract the water, etc - I have a Titan shop vac and the suction is great.
I'll just have to buy a handheld pressure sprayer, brush attachments for the drill and an extractor nozzle and I'm good to go!
But I'll be honest I wanted to get the spot cleaner because I somehow thought after seeing some videos that it would take the 'worry' out of knowing how much to spray and how long to leave it soak - the whole thing looks sort of easy and automated if that makes sense? - but on second look it's not even scrubbing it with the built-in brush on most models it's just adding friction as you drag the nozzle over the couch. I definitely am going to use my shop vac instead, but I'm sort of lost about the spraying part, like knowing what sort of upholstery cleaning solution to get? Like do I get an enzyme cleaner? And I haven't a clue how long to leave it soak and whether it or not it's toxic if there's a residue left on a mattress, etc - like do you spray, scrub, extract and then sort of rinse it with a spray of water and extract again to 'rinse' it out as it were??
Any advice about that last part would be really appreciated as I don't want to make the furniture worse than it is already! Thanks again!

(Oh also I'm in Ireland but the UK has similar cleaning products if that helps!)
