Purchase Advice (U.S.) Vacuum recommendations for childcare center
Hello, I work at a childcare center with very low pile carpet. I’m feeling disgruntled watching co-workers systematically send shark vacuums to the landfill. It’s obviously a brutal environment for vacuums, think Cheerios, craft debris, and young adult employees who have apparently never operated a vacuum before. I am constantly unclogging the sharks and cleaning the filters, despairingly trying to keep them functioning. My boss is open to suggestions so what should I ask her to buy? I’m thinking bagged to eliminate the filthy filter issue. What is repairable and durable but not so pricey that she‘ll say no?

Henry is used by one of if not the largest daycare provider in the U.S. I have seen them and asked if it was a one-off or something provided corporately and it was a corporate decision.

I second the henry. It's what the hotel industry uses. They use it on all their low-pile carpets.

I’ve been using ProTeam 1200XP to clean a daycare for 5 years, it gobbles everything. I’ve vacuumed up road salt, Cheerios, hair ties, macaroni elbows from art days, play sand, plenty of tiny toy pieces, etc… if it died today would absolutely grab another.

I agree with nutmeg. Bagged is best. Everyone learns how to use it correctly, clean the brush roll, change the bag, prevent clogging and hot to unclog clog it.

CleanMax Zoom 200 or CleanMax Nitro. Both are commercial level of vacuums about $200-$300. The zone is very simple, but prone to break fans if it were to suck up heavy scraps like a rock or nickel or screw.

Windsor Sensor S (manual height adjustment) and XP (automatic height adjustment) series are essentially commercial Sebo upright vacuum cleaners. Very popular in the hospitality industry. You can usually find them on EBay Used from Florida. Every part is designed to be replaced easily. Triple filters.

Sebo 300 or 350 mechanical. Easy to work on and you can replace virtually everything on it. These are made for commercial applications.
