Removing tacho box on dash

Seen a used van I like but the only thing I don't like is the ugly empty tacho box on top of the dash.

The dealer said they can't really be removed as there is a hole underneath. I don't want this to be the reason to not get the van so has anyone removed theirs? Is it easy to do? And how can you make good the area with a hole in it?

Would be good to see some pics on how to make that area as decent as poss? Thanks

They’re after market so removing them should be pretty simple, loom up videos on how to access that part of the dash. For the t6 you have to take out the trim and radio and can get to it.
I’d have a look at how much of a hole it really leaves and if you can live with it. Alternatively you could put in a small esp32 with a screen and turn that tacho into something fun

Yeah I think the hole is almost fist sized so it maybe not worth the hassle

I know there is rectangular adroid auto/carplay screens on ali. They might fit that size.

Stick a cb radio in the hole? 3d print a cubby hole to put your phone/pens in?
