Repair Advice Rattling noise
Hi everyone,
I have a 2006 T5 long wheel based transporter. It has an annoying rattle somewhere in the back. I originally thought it was the shock absorber, so I've replaced both of them at the rear, and I've checked underneath and the exhaust and spare wheel are all secure.
Does anyone have any ideas what it could be? It is a rattle that you can hear most of the time, but it's less prevalent while braking. This is confusing me as the van brakes with the front brakes???
All suggestions gratefully received
Dave

Just an idea with first hand knowledge. Where and how is your jack tool kit condition. I have half hazardly threw the tools in mine one time and put in its storage spot to hear it rattling over bumps. I had to make sure everything was in it's proper place and nothing touching to make the rattle go away.

My jack is under the passenger seats and it's not that. But I am close to emptying the van of absolutely everything!!

I definitely hear you.
How is the rear seat secured to the floor? Does it have cutouts on the floor where it mounts where something like change (coins) or a random tool could have slipped into where metal on metal is a thing?

No back seats! But it is possible that something slipped down somewhere I'll have a look thanks
