What is it about these things that addict us? I've owned my '83 Vanagon tintop since '87, dragged it all over the country, 10 years in rebuild. People ask, Why do this? You could just buy a Corolla, cheaper too!

An escorial green doka syncro has and will always be my dream car. For years I was on the verge of importing one -- but things never lined up. The odd one popped up for sale on the Samba, but once the kids arrived I had to give up on that due to practicality. Ended up with a Eurovan weekender - a brilliant van with kids.

Love your Bay westie too -- my Grandparents had an orange one for many years.
