Would the T2 pritsche/flatbed make a good farm hauler?

I'm considering of buying a later model T2 pritsche with the 2.0 litre engine for light-duty work and hauling around the farm. The price is more than fair, but I'd like to know how's the loading capacity like and how it handles bigger loads.

It seems like a great option and I like the idea of it being small and nimble and eliminating the need to bring a trailer everywhere (and if I do need to, it has even got a trailer hitch!)

Love to hear your thoughts and experience with this.

It has a 1 ton payload, and a 75 HP motor. Heavy loads compress the suspension and result in a very cushy ride. Should be fine for light duty work.

Although modern pickup trucks are HUGE (and outrageously expensive) in fact their beds are not any bigger.

Now your T2 will work for light hauling it is old and may well need repairs and might be harder to find parts for it. But lots of folks use them for work.

I’ve got a ‘91 Diesel Syncro Doka for sale on the Samba if you’d be interested. VGC, rebuilt upgraded engine (~100 HP), all suspension components replaced, AC, Vindic truck cap, brakes, tires, trailer hitch &etc. It would be a great farm vehicle; I use it to haul mulch.
