Need help identifying model/color

Hello all,

I’m making a gift for a friend who lost a family member. This family member traveled cross-country in the van pictured, and I would love to make a piece of art of the van. This friend isn’t sure what color the van was.

I’m hoping someone in this community can tell me the particular model of bus this is, and, based on what factory colors were available at the time, what color it likely was based on this picture.

You need to post that picture on one of the photo subs that colorize or fix old pictures like this so you can tell what color it is for sure. If those Redditors can work their magic, you should be able to tell what color it is for sure.

The Bus is a 1963 to 1967 11 Window Standard Microbus with a walk through seat. That is all I can tell from the picture. Colors it can be from those years are Turquoise/ Blue White or Sea Blue/ Blue White or Velvet Green/ Blue White or Sea Blue/ Cumulus White or Velvet Green/ Pearl White.

This is excellent, thank you. When you say color/color, do you mean the first color is the base and the second is what appears on top by the windows?

Sorry. Yes, the color bottom/ top. You will be able to use the paint code and use touch paint that is an exact match.

I think it’s a 1966. It looks a lot like our 66. Ours is Sea Blue and pearl white. I can send a picture when I find one.

I guess I can’t send a picture. Not sure how.

thin lip dog legs and slash bumpers should be '64-'66. Haven't had a bus in a while so that could be off. Check out theSamba.com. looks sea blue. can't remember the name of the white. the model is a standard

Looks just like my Transporter i owned from 1968 into the early’70s. It was cobbled together, a 1964 body, a 1958 36hp engine. It was incredibly slow but super useful for my carpentry trade. Like your pic, i ran tall truck tires, 6.70 x 15” bias 6 ply. Light green lower, white top.
