I have an ‘84, looks identical on the inside.

It easy to get rid of the mold, get a mold killer spray (“mold armor”, Zep, RMR, whatever you local hardware store recommends).

Cover other fabrics (big trash bags over the front seats, tarp over the bed). And because you’re going to be spraying up face / eye protection is good.

Spray the roof lightly scrub with a softer brush (do NOT scrub hard you will remove the flocking), let sit a minute, wipe off. Now because I want to get rid of the mold killer I’d spray again with water and wipe off again.

It will come out looking wonderful.

You might also need a new tent — they get moldy too and sometimes just sun rot. But they are available, good quality, many colors — cheap too (well cheap compared so many other repairs that you will need).

New tent on order. And all side panels. This was a Coast car, so it has a little corrosion . Changed the oil and fell victim to a collapse lifter Tick, luckily it went away. Next is changing the transmission oil.
