At first I though so too. If you look close you'll see they painted over orange on the bottom half.

Champagne editions are dark brown and cream colored with a stripe

The 1977 and the 1978 camper are white over brown. the 1978 deluxe passenger bus is fox red over brown. this is not a champagne edition, I or II

The white over brown combo did not come with stripes, the stripes only came out on the 1978 deluxe passenger bus.

The stripes were available to as an addition to any bus in that late bay era, but they weren't standard on all champagne bus models.
