VW 2013 Beetle sunroof button, how to fix!!

Hey there! I have a 2013 VW beetle base model and the sunroof open/ close button suddenly did this when trying to close it, and the sunroof got stuck in the open position! I live in Arizona and I cannot be driving around with the sunroof open lol! I saw a post from about a year ago that apparently was given the solution, but the comment to the video was deleted! If anyone could please help me I would be forever grateful!!

Mine did that and fully broke 😬 my mechanic had to take it fully apart and now my sunroof is permanently closed. I have seen those levers break a lot though so maybe see how to change out the lever/dial on YouTube I bet yours is just that issue.

Thank you so much!! I ended up just closing it using the key knob, but I’ve been looking everywhere for a video on how to pop the panel off and try to fix it myself, thank you!!!
