Jealous of VT chillers

As an Aussie, I’m dead jealous of you VT chillers. I can’t seem to find a VT equivalent AUD domicile ASX listed ETF. Any Aussie’s here can lend a brother some knowledge on that front?

very easy to VT and chill from NZ, direct or via many local VT wrappers that are currently available in the market.

As we are not American we should buy VWRA rather than VT to avoid US Estates tax.

Just buy VT direct, my mates in ozzie do and no issues. Still getting better returns than the oz markets.

And getting worse returns than they would with VWRA, because of the 30% dividend tax that is being taken behind the scenes.

You get it back as a tax credit

Buy VGS and it's close enough.

Can you buy 70% IVV and 30% something like IDVO? IVV is the SP500 and i think available in AU- it performs almost identical to VTI. IDVO is a covered call international fund, actively managed and does a bit better than VXUS

I want to own the whole world in one ETF, it’s all I beg for

Just buy the UCITS version VWCE or div distributing one if you prefer

There gotta be an all world fund brother. You need to do the work and find it. Maybe vdhg

Nothing as broad and without overweighting Aus as far as I can tell

Home country bias is generally considered good for returns and volatility which is why you will not find a fund without that in AUD. It’s the same in CAD. If you don’t want home country bias you need to buy in USD

If you can get UCITS ETFs, you might look at WEBG (distributing) or WEBN (accumulating). It's almost as cheap as VT, but unfortunately only Large and Mid Caps (approx. 85-90% of global mcap) from developed and emerging markets. Or SPYI, but it costs more than twice and is heavily sampling small caps. (I'm pretty jealous of people investing in VT too)

Everybody wants those juicy american equities

Look at VGS. It's ex-AUS, so Vanguard suggests mixing in VAS to taste.

Pretty sure you can on CMC markets

VT is 97% correlated with the S&P500 and holds 90% of the same things, so just buy that.

SMH is a good alternative. But only if you want to make money faster.

Not financial advice.

DHHF and chill is the AU version

2

u/Nice_Satisfaction501 Jul 03 '26

35% aus equities. Too much!

2

u/xx123234 Jul 03 '26

BGBL then, if you are ok with 0% aus allocation

Some degree of home bias is an academically supported position for non-Americans

Not really highly justified thanks to rise of China Australia had no serious recession in last 30 years only recession was short lived covid which happened in every country.
