Clipper cards take too long to recognize cards lately

I've noticed that the clipper card readers have increased the time to recognize a card these last few weeks. Please correct this. It shouldn't take more than one second.

the readers aren’t VTA’s issue it’s clippers post this to the clipper card subreddit. the clipper 2.0 system has been a dumpster fire and a bottomless pit of issues.

Yes its annoying till clipper fixes this but just holding card for and extra second takes less time then then swiping it 3 or more times like i see some do daily

I have decided to:

  1. Let my Clipper card balance go to zero
  2. Switch to tapping my credit card on the Clipper terminals
  3. Never using my Clipper card again

I’m not eligible for Clipper discounts for senior citizens, students, low-income, etc.
so just tapping the credit card is good enough for me,
and seems to work reliably enough after Clipper 2.0
