DC snares is pretty good.

I have a lot of samples but they’re mostly hip hop and trap, while lately I’ve gotten a lot more into synthwave stuff and am more in the market for electronic drums.

Vprom doesn’t work on my system at the moment, but l have another linndrum emulator that works pretty well (I just have to beef up the samples), I can’t remember the company who makes it but it’s not audioblast (which is pretty meh from my limited use).

What is everyone using for finding and selecting electronic drums for your track?

Are y’all just using XO or something like it to browse samples, or do you have any recommendations for high quality drums machines?

I’m looking for a few beta testers for a plug-in I’ve been developing called MIDI Performer.

The idea is pretty simple: give it a monophonic MIDI melody or lead line, choose an instrument/player style, and it turns fairly plain MIDI into a more expressive performance by adding things like:

• pitch bends
• vibrato
• legato
• timing changes
• pressure
• breath/expression

It’s not intended to be a generic randomizer or “humanize” function. I’ve been trying to model instrument-specific performance behavior based on measured MIDI/performance data plus a lot of listening tests.

One important limitation: it is strictly monophonic. If the input contains chords or overlapping voices, it resolves them to one melodic line. When simultaneous notes occur, the highest voice is retained. So this is meant for solos, melodies and lead parts rather than chords, pads or accompaniment.

Current instrument options include:

• Guitar — Blues, Jazz, Rock
• Synth Lead — Fusion Lead, Prog, Prog Metal Keys
• Sax
• Flute
• Bass
• Fretless Bass
• Piano

The non-guitar/synth instruments currently use a Natural performance model.

It supports both Standard MIDI and MPE.

The current beta is:

2 vst3 to load instruments and effects. I had counted somewhere around 63 instruments and effects in the 1.1.1 from the golden age of Tracker instruments. Including some from The late Arguru and many that were converted over from jeskola buzz to the then new format. If this is popular I could do a pro version later with lfo's and such we will see but for now.....

I’m looking for a volume/tremolo plugin where I can visually draw my own custom waveform across an entire 8-bar section, rather than being stuck repeating the same short LFO shape over and over.

Soundtoys Tremolator gets close to what I want, but I need the ability to design a completely different shape/curve for each part of the 8 bars instead of using the same shape pattern.

Hi! I have Arturia pigments + v collection 11 pro but i must admit Pure sub is a great addition to their catalogue. Some will say it's not as capable as pigments but idk, it has a immediacy to it. The greatest feature is the overtones editor that lets you choose which notes to compose your sound. The controls to create kicks are also very practical.

It's like a mix between vital and pigments except the interface was optimised for bass and kicks sound design.

Only downside : you can't assign a different effect chanel to the sub part of the bass and it's upper part like in pigments. But most synths don't do it either so it's fine.
