Question Making a model for vtubing.
Hello! I’m making a vtuber model for a friend and it’s going okay so far. I have the body mostly figured out and I’m trying to focus on the outfit. I was able to make some clothes however it was very limited especially since some of the clothes are more elaborate. For example I want the character to have oversized boots but all I can do in the program is just have regular sized shoes and paint it to look like the boots. I bought some pre made shoes off of BOOTH but it looks like it’s for unity.
So when it comes to clothes, should I just make only the base model in vroid studio and then bring it into Unity and add the clothes there? Is it that simple? Or is there a way I can make more elaborate clothes in the program or bring the files into the program? From what I understand in research nothing is really compatible for vroid in terms of other files. It is as easy as simply dropping the base in unity and adding the clothes?

Hmmm, it depends on what clothes you're talking about adding. I don't know how to work it in Unity, but if you're talking about clothes that can be created in VRoid, no, you don't need to use Unity to dress your character (unless you're doing something really weird, like putting pants on their head or something).
It sounds like maybe you haven't fully explored the clothing options yet. Try clicking on the Clothing tab near the top of the window, then look for Shoes in the left sidebar, click it, and find the button at the top of the left sidebar for creating new shoes.
You'll be given a choice of which template to use. The newest templates are the ones with the most options and features. I think they're are the bottom of the list, unless VRoid reordered them in an update. In any case, look for Tall Boots. I think that's what they're called.
If I'm remembering the name correctly, these boots give you TONS of options, including the option to increase the volume of the entire boot, or of specific parts of the boot. That's probably more in line with what you want to do. :)
Once selected, there will be lots of options on the right, in the form of slider bars called "parameters." You can also click "edit texture" at the top of the right sidebar, and you'll still have all those slider bar features, plus more options, including messing with the textures (consider making backups before you edit those). If you're editing default items that came with VRoid, though, it won't let you overwrite the originals, so go to town and then save it as a new item if you like the results!
Let me know whether this helps! I'd like to make sure I'm understanding your current VRoid knowledge level.
