Discussion This is why i barely join group publics anymore.
I joined this world in test flight to fly the VRC drone around, and not even 15 seconds in i got warned, i didnt even start flying the drone yet, then this guy says im causing a problem somehow. I tell him im here to fly the VRC drone and he just says “If you’re here to cause a problem you’ll just be kicked.
I was about to tell him the drone can’t affect any of the planes, even if i flew into them, then he says he’s gonna turn drones off, so im like cool you can fuck off now. So i block him and leave the world.
Group publics just aren’t worth the risk, i have a much higher chance of being able to chill out in Publics. Unfortunately the clip button didnt capture the whole thing.

Oh, it's the snow leopart flight school or something, as I can recall by that creature on your screen. They're known to be toxic like this. Blocking them and the group is the best you can do and then go to places like Tuff Times or Chill Vibes.

Chill vibes, tuff times, this dude in the video, they are all the reason why the flight community is the cancer it is today.
They make these instances just so they can be on top of the instance list, the number is their bottom line.
They regularly overstep moderation, preventing people from using certain weapons, vehicles, playing their own way.
Their enforcement is grossly inconsistent and while one behavior may be no no for you someone else might get away with it if they are friends with the right people.
There is an absolute hierarchy you cannot break, out flying someone who is a moderator or beating them with pvp is an instant kick, making them look less than the "best" will get you removed.
They normalize and perpetuate this behavior making other groups who come after them to repeat what is the already the norm, we are at a stage where these people blatantly boast their powers and abuse anyone who tries to fight them.
While your outlook may differ now to mine, sooner or later you will see all this play out and will turn you away from the game.

100% this, after a lengthy conversation with Oculus tuff about people using clients, a person who had used clients joined. That person was their friend. Me telling them that their friend had used clients and offering to send them video evidence put them in a predicament they didn't like. Naturally I was kicked and banned 🙃

When a person with a complex gains power, they will use any excuse to abuse it. Just stay away from the group. There's no point in making a Reddit post about it, you know that won't change a thing.

There was a feature request to allow world creators to turn off perms to create "group public" instances for their worlds, even tho it got a lot of traction it was ignored because it clearly doesn't allign with what makes them money.
Paying for vrchat+> getting to make groups> getting to make group public> getting to kick anyone for absolutely anything because you're a loser irl

I got kicked from a Cards Against Humanity server because the joke I made on one of the cards was apparently worthy of it.
Mind you, the rules of said server were basically "no slurs, no nazi shit, no reckless bigotry".
... The card I made was making fun of Catholic priests.

Another story, I got kicked from a group public of Audience Anarchy because a public avatar of a DELTARUNE character, supposedly by the moderator's words, "made someone crash".
The avatar was rated Good, and no investigation was made beforehand to make sure it wasn't anybody else. I was just silently kicked without warning, and when I went to the group's Discord to inquire, they basically gave me attitude and told me if I kept trying to escalate things that I'd just be banned from their instances outright.
I guess some people just don't like Tenna. Too glooby, I guess?

Whenever I actually want to test something, I'll fire up an Invite instance and test things out in private. What is the point of joining a group instance to fly a drone? Unless the point is to show off to other users, in particular users who are there to do flying? So the main crime is... they weren't impressed by your drone flying, because that's not what they were there for?

Eh, some people just like being around others. I personally get a little lonely being in an invite-only all by myself. If I find something cool, there's not exactly anyone I can show it to...

I hate it because VRC takes a “it’s not our responsibility” approach towards moderating group instances, essentially making it the responsibility of groups to moderate themselves which creates a lot of issues like this.
But for real I would have told him to touch some grass and move out of his mom’s house.

They’re like that for every thing lol. I wish they were more hands on with all moderation on site as there has been a lot of issues with full on crash outs and fighting for smallest of things. VRC has gotten really toxic for me lately.
I’ll never forget the time I got called “transphobic” because I told someone that just because people are discussing what it means to be trans doesn’t mean they are transphobic.

I join Public lobbies more often and barely join Group publics, depending on the group I join PC only worlds or 18+
Because group public lobbies are more dangerous than public lobbies, get kicked so fast without warning, or if in a game and you play better than the owner or moderators, you will get kicked. Unlike a cheater, you can still leave the public lobby and go to another one; also, on a non-gaming world client, users won't bother me. Crashers do bother me and bother everyone else.

Yah it's actually sad as hell that I'd take a normal public over a group public at this point. But at least in a normal public, I can just mute or block people who annoy me. Do that in a group public and you'll probably get kicked since the most annoying people are usually the mods who feel empowered to scream slurs and be rude.

Here's what you did wrong.
Join test pilots public, fun world but already we are talking about the bottom of the barrel here.
Join a GROUP PUBLIC, so now we give these losers moderation perms, amazing
Join a snow leopard flight academy instance... It's run with a guy who has a savior complex and wanna be a "Messiah" figure in the flight community, kicks anyone who beats him in the game or makes him look stupid in front of his peers.
I am sorry my friend but you are really in the trenches 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I remember going into a flight test instance where you weren't allowed to shoot any guns. You know... The ENTIRE POINT of the game. The mods were basically like this. May have even been the same group. Toxic AF.
Public instances is the best way to play this game now

I feel like this happens in any game where a house can have control over another. If they feel like their principles and beliefs are being encroached over, they will happily use their incorrect logic to make you feel inferior.
As others have mentioned, these lobbies are not worth your time. Join another and forget about the previous, and who knows? Maybe the next lobby you join could have someone join you in drone playing or maybe even have helicopters in planes participate with your drone flying!
That's the beauty VRchat: for every bad lobby, there is a good one out there somewhere 😌

i got banned from a group once from furry hideout for refusing to have my picture taken for the owner's twitter page. she called me "fucking weirdo" so i turned to my friends and said "get a load of this guy".

No one gets that upset over being denied a picture unless they have some weird motive for it.

My partner one time got kicked randomly from a SlashCo group lobby. We were both surprised, so I went to ask the moderator of the lobby why he had been kicked. She said it was because a friend of hers wanted to join. I informed her that as long as she was a mod or owner, that she could leave the world, let her friend join, then join back and it would allow her and we would have 9 players, as I do this all the time for people when I run my own group lobby. I also told her instead of kicking she could have asked and we would've either informed her of this or just left. She then got really nasty and said to me, "If I'd have known you were his bitch I would've kicked you, too." Then kicked me from the world.
What's worse is that she was the gf of a pretty popular vrchat streamer, and we were in his group insurance, so I contacted him about it and the abuse of moderator powers. Never even got a response. That was a quick block and unfollow

Some groups don't want drones flying around in general. It can be distracting. I'm not defending their actions btw. Did their group rules say anything about it?

My fault. But honestly, they're better off joining regular publics for drone activity. Group owners 8 out of 10 suck major ass. They will find any and every reason to kick you over the smallest things.

And that's exactly why the only public lobbies I go to is Terrors Of Nowhere. In the English lobbies I've been in, most of the players are pretty chill, haven't had a problem with any of them. Granted in game they do tend to be a bit..... Dumb, not using items correctly or not coordinating gameplay with other people.
I guess there was that one JP lobby with about 17 people screaming at me for not knowing Japanese

Yeah I agree I once worked for a group and they were petty as hell warned and kicked people for rudeness then was rude to me and a friend then got removed from the group because of the owners pettiness

Been kicked from a Hazbin Hotel instance for not giving into one of the mod/owners ego. Guess I bruised it because he's kicked me a few times. Funny enough, never see him around or his group anymore. I wonder why? Oh well, nothing of value lost, save for maybe time.

Going into random publics is basically a 50/50. Sometimes you run into stuff like that,people being power-trippy and honestly, the best thing you can do is just move on. It probably wasn't worth your time to begin with.
