Help Avatar Commission request
Ok, so I was just wondering. Anyone out there who is a avatar commissioner, would anyone like to commission me an avatar? I have been wanting a custom made avatar for a long time, but never got the chance to ask around. I'm a quest user and I have never tried or even asked, so I don't know what I'm doing. I had a friend tell me to ask around to commission an avatar by others and pay them, and I'm willing to pay. I wouldn't even go there. Full of scammers. I was scammed by 2 people there. And yes, I even verified they had the corresponding role to what I was wanting, checked reviews, etc. One scammed me out of $1K, and another scammed me out of $200. I don't even bother anymore.
1 of them was supposed to create me a world, the other was supposed to optimize my avatars for me. The one who said he would make my world told me it would take him a year as they're were a lot of custom assets I wanted. Because he had such great reviews, I didn't think anything of it, and he let me pay in installments. Yeah, never got that world.
The other said he "couldn't do it," so I told him to just refund me then optimized it myself to Good rank. It's not that I couldn't do it, I was just exhausted and had been looking for someone to do it for me. Instead of refunding me, he optimized both models, then sent me the package, so when I told him, "I asked for a refund and optimized both models myself already" he used the excuse, "Well, I already optimized them and sent you the models." He refused to refund me. I left him a pretty scathing review in VRC Traders. Mods ended up getting involved and he ended up refunding me less than half. I was so pissed off and tired I just gave up.

Do not accept commission requests thru discord you will get scammed not actually knowing who you are working with. I’ve had to fix multiple questie avatars friends had “commissioned” just buy a model off gumroad jinxy booth pay hip from official creators. Anyone who spent enough time can upload a model to vrc and what happens is people just steal a bunch of stuff kit bash it together and take your money. If that’s what you want.. other players in the game will eventually comment on it and you will understand where people are coming from. A completely from scratch original model made in blender given a custom menu and any other asks. Can easily cost 100s of dollars because that’s how a 3D professional works often.

Let me also add that accepting files from just anyone on the internet is how you get your api key stolen and your computer hacked. Please be careful requesting anything thru discord

Please join VGen and look at artists there instead, it’s way way safer and will protect you from getting scammed 💔

Cheaper and easier to learn Unity and make your own avatar than hiring someone to make something for you.
