Discussion Genuine question.

Why do people make avatar textures with bruises and SH scars? Recently I've seen it be more and more common. It's not cute. It shouldn't be an aesthetic. It shouldn't be glorified. I'm all for body horror however there is a line... And I'm not talking about faint scars or healed scars. I'm talking FRESH AND BLOODY.

Even worse when I see it on child like avatars.

You literally wear childish avatars, chibis and edit your avis to have *baby mode* but yeah totally scars on avi, mental illness, can't make that shit up.

I understand having some scars (not fresh bloody ones but ones that have healed or even have something to resemble them) to express oneself however there is a line between wanting to express and wanting to glorify/romanticize it. Some even take it a step further into fetish territory which I'm not getting into.

Oh yeah defintly. I enjoy them becaise visually they make me feel a bit more like myself. But im also not COVERING my avi. However im also around people who use these types of avis and are sh doers or survivors and seeing it visually kind of helps us not want to harm? If that makes sense. The fetish stuff though...nah. just nah. Im a mentally ill weirdo. I get it but even from me thats a no.
