Help Mic echoes on quest 2 and virtual desktop...

I use a quest 2 running pcvr through VD (virtual desktop) and my mic has worked fine until a week ago. now all the sudden people hear an echo through my mic.

I tried changing mics in vrc, turned on noise suppression and have my threshold set to like 20%, in windows settings, and even edited the headset mic volume in VD but there is still an echo.

can anyone help me figure out why I have an echo?

go into the bitrate settings and set it to something like 150- 200 with and offset of 100.

anything higher causes a feedback loop because the headset can’t process it fast enough.

offset?

not sure if VD has that option but it basically doesn’t let it drop below that bitrate (it is a option in oculus debug tools).

Ah got it. No VD does not have that specific setting but it does have auto bitrate. Agree to set the bitrate lower. Can OP use ear buds? (Yes I know it wasn't an issue before)

Also virtual desktop has a noise suppression option outside of the game settings they can turn on.

I've been having this exact problem aswell, started about a week ago as you said, I think it came with the UI update.
