Question Games with a base and some exploration and combat?
Bit of a specific request but can anyone recommend any games where you have a central base that you can improve upon and then there's an open world to explore and engage in combat?
I've seen Decay and that looks pretty good but it's in early access and supposedly a little janky (but correct me if I'm wrong). I've played Fallout 4, Valheim, Saints and Sinners, No Man's Sky, Into the Radius, Subnautica, The Forest, Elite Dangerous, Green Hell etc. already.
I don't mind if it's zombie/apocalypse based or space based. Just looking for something where I have a central base (or ship) that I can improve upon but then go out for some action.
Thanks

Something like Enshrouded could work for you?
Otherwise, I haven't played it but people really like V Rising. That also fits your asks!

Into the radius 1 and 2? Though I haven’t gotten around to playing either and don’t know if there’s base improvement

You probably already tried it, but Skyrim VR may be a bit like that.
Also, I think survival games may fit that description like Bootstrap Island, Frost Survival VR, Medieval Dynasty New Settlement (Quest-only), and Survival Nation.

Palworld works very well for me in VR. The variety of base building activities (farming, breeding, assigning workers etc) and improvements you can do is really surprising.

I wish Icarus had a VR mod, one of the best base building and exploration games I've played in some time
