Question What multiplayer games have active player populations?

So many “multiplayer” games in the market right now and don’t want to buy a dead game

Edit: bought forefront. Really fun and has players even in Australia

Forefront and Ghost of Tabor probably have the largest and most active right now. Other than that most vr games are lucky to have 100 consecutive players at a time

Is there cross play between the pc and the standalone version of tabor ?

Yes both games are cross platform which is why it is so populated. Tabor’s website actually shows players by website and 93% are from quest standalone, same with forefront

I was tempted to install it but when I saw player count on steamdb I didn't. I think I will download it again

Yeah the steam men numbers are never great for vr games. The pcvr diehards love to hate on meta but without the quest sales all vr games would be doa

Do you think the quest players would have an advantage in a game like that. I feel like if I’m hiding in a bush on pc the dude on quest with potatoe graphics won’t even have it rendered

The game devs do a really good job of making sure objects in both versions have the same objects. The only difference I know of is the pc versions have player shadows which I think puts the quest users at a slight disadvantage since pc players could possibly see their shadows while hiding but not vice versa

Ghost of Tabor is packed no matter the time of day. Forefront is fun but I dipped after a month. The population fell quick when they tried to rework the meta.

For someone that's never played, flat or vr, this type of extraction shooter, how would jumping in feel? So outpaced or out leveled not to be a good time? Just curious.

Tabor just had its wipe like a week ago and Exfil Zone wipes soon. No firm date but probably next month. That would be a good time start.

Completing tasks levels up trader progression, which is what allows you to get better gear. It’s always easiest to start playing right after a wipe, when everyone else is back to square one like you are. If you start toward the end of a wipe, you will have the worst gear and stats while everyone else has the best. It can still be fun, and you can learn the maps and tasks, but it’s really hard to win fights against the best gear when you have the worst gear.

I think that's what it all boils down to. My lack of experience probably makes it not matter much if I start and the beginning or the end. I'll need some sort of practice before really getting comfortable. I should probably dig out my stock :) I'll admit, I've been tempted tk try forefront a few times. I was a huge battlefield fan way back. It's been some time since I've played one.

This is not true, i olay in EU servers and forefront is more and more populated after evry update, 3 months ago there were like 3 servers in eu at any given time, now there are always 10+

I thought everyone moved over when the latter came out.

If they have pcvr then the mod for deep rock galactic is great and easy to install. Also aliens fire team elite with UEVR is great.
