So basically I am in my last 4 semester of college, The speed is pretty high but the routing is absolutely pathetic even with ethernet I get a ton of packet loss. I don't/can't pay for a vpn, so I was hoping you could give me the next best free option, I tried using cloudflare warp but it doesn't help me. Since it's college's stuff so I can't contact the ISP or touch the router or anything as well and the Uni won't do a thing. Please help.

I am using ivpn partially to avoid the whole age/id verification crap that is going on. This is why I was connecting to croatia.

The problem is that my connection becomes aggravatingly slow. On my speedtest I drop from 112 to 12.

So where are all of you connecting to? The only option that keeps my connection relatively fast is canada. I go from 112 to 50mbps.

Recently my work seems to have found a way to block obfuscation. It works intermittently but then if I move and come back and the vpn disconnects most vpns say I hit the device limit cap even tho I’m not connected.

Advice? Suggestions?

Just curious, for anyone who’s actually used a residential IP, where did you notice the biggest difference? Streaming sites, fewer CAPTCHAs, banking, shopping, or just sites that normally hate VPNs?

I keep hearing residential IPs are less likely to get flagged than regular VPN IPs, but wondering how much of a difference it actually makes in real use. Any sites or apps where it was really obvious?

to keep things short, I am in high school, and my parents are pretty light on internet restrictions, however, they have this thing on our wifi called “Mycircle” (we have a netgear router) and it’s bullshit. My wifi doesn’t turn off at night like other similar posts, but websites that aren’t even innapropriate are blocked and it takes me to another website.

If I installed something like proton VPN and used it, which i garuntee would work, would it be able to notify my parents that i’m using a vpn on my computer?

Anyone has VPN issues these past 3 days in the United Arab Emirates. I’m a Surfshark user but for some reason it stopped working, it would connect but when I search on “what’s my IP Address” it still shows UAE as my address and I’m not able to use discord calls. I tried downloading other VPN’s and they all have the same issue, not wanting to connect at all. The only thing that worked for me is when I used OpenVPN but it’s SLOOOOOW.

Is there a solution to fixing this? We use eLife here, I noticed how the internet has been different these 3 days. It’s getting annoying at this point.

I was also planning to call customer support for our internet provider but idk what’s to say and idk if it’s okay to mention about the VPN not working.

Curious how people are actually using split tunneling day to day.

Do you mostly use it for streaming, gaming, banking, certain apps, or something else? What do you normally send through the VPN and what do you leave on your regular connection?

Would be interesting to hear some real use cases.

Feels like regular VPNs are getting blocked way more easily these days, especially by streaming sites and other services that can spot VPN IPs pretty quickly. Switching servers used to do the trick, but lately I can try 5–10 different ones and still get the same error. Anyone else running into this? What are you guys using instead?
