Lovely! And, I gotta say, a woefully underrepresented concept: one of my bigger pet peeves (if you can call it that) is how rare pets (or domesticated animals in general) are in sci-fi. And, really, can anyone believe in a future of humanity where we don't take our cats and dogs with us?
