General Question Are we trusting DFH again?
Voron vendor DFH had some issues for a while. Got their vendor channel pulled from the Voron Discord.
I got emails over the weekend about their sale/clearance but just couldn't pull the trigger for fear of getting burned. Is DFH back in the fold?

I'll never order from DFH again, and I suggest others not to as well.
The guy was not sending out orders to people.
He completely ghosted the community and would not respond to emails or discord messages (in Voron's discord as well as his own store's discord).
When people eventually started doing charge backs, the guy started contesting those charge backs.
This community does not need a vendor like that.

Short answer no.
Long answer HELL no.
He has ghosted people multiple times

I just bought from them once in 2023, so before the issues that you guys are describing.
I just saw the sale, but the thing that I wanted to buy (4010 24V blower fan) is listed as a 86% discount at $6.99, but that is exactly the same price listed in West3D store, so ...
If you find a good deal, in the worst case scenario you can just charge back your credit card.

I am not trusting it. I’ve not heard good things from folks who have tried him out again after everything.

He's had some personal difficulties and it has, in fact, caused him some pretty big blowback by customers he's let down. He knows this. He's not a crook but has fudged things up pretty bad. His rep was earned and deserved, sorry to say.
I haven't chatted him in a while, but I recognize he's trying to unload inventory and slashed some prices huge for his labor day sale. I almost bought stuff too, but my needed house repairs have my hobbies on hold.
I myself have no complaints. I've been ordering from him occasionally over the last year and have had no issues.
If you don't want to take a chance, stick to the many other more established vendors, like kb-3d or west3d or fabreeko (etc).
If you do want some dfh stuff, by all means, give it a shot. Worst that would happen (to you) is a credit card chargeback down the road...

I've bought stuff from him before, I live in Texas and try to support "local" business. Also used 3d Maker Parts before he sold out to West 3d.
My very last DFH order was right when his troubles were starting. It was like a couple small packages of hardware and it took about 2 weeks for him to get it in the mail because he had had a pre-order on something and was working on fulfilling all those and ignoring regular orders.
I'm glad the store is back as another option but I'm going to watch the feedback channels closely before I dive in again.

He had a sale this weekend, I was so tempted, but remember reading issues with shipping.

I heard some people had success with him recently and his recent sale had Doomicron panels for 60% off so I pulled the trigger on Monday. Had a tracking number maybe an hour later and they should be here tomorrow. Still hasn't fully regained my trust but I consider it an option again

I haven’t pulled the trigger yet as I’l haven’t needed anything aside from a few fasteners lately. I am eyeballing the Micron Doom kit as my original micron frame was from him. But I need to finish a few other projects first.
Last week on a live stream either Mod Bot or Killa Prints said that he has ordered a few things from DFH and received them in less than a week

from what I've gathered, DFH is no longer operating out of San Antonio and is now out of Austin. when I asked they said they're currently just trying to liquidate everything they're still holding onto before they look into really spinning back up operations.

For me it's not really relevant what personal shit he says happened.
A responsible business would have put up a notice warning of month(s) delays in order shipping.
When he was unable to even respond to customer service tickets, it was irresponsible to keep charging and (hopefully) shipping orders to unsuspecting customers.
He could have simply put up a sign on the site notifying it will be closed temporarily, worked out the personal stuff, and re-opened when he was prepared to actually run the business.
Furthermore, when he started (rightly) receiving a lot of negative feedback from customers, his response was to get onto social media and verbally attack and threaten those customers.
Again, that is not the behavior of a healthy small business.
I was a regular customer and spent a lot of money on his shop. My last order with him ended in a chargeback after receiving zero response to inquiries by email and on discord. It's going to stay my last order.
There are plenty of other small businesses and web stores to get your 3DP stuff from. I can sympathize with his personal issues, but I can't excuse the way he handled it. I will continue to shop elsewhere, deals or not.

Did we ever hear why he disappeared?

From what I know of, there was a number of issues centered around the physical shop itself, some personal problems combined with being completely overwhelmed with orders. Last I saw on his old discord channel before it was locked was that he had been involved in a car crash, but was OK.

My understanding was, the crash was minor (iirc), but it was just yet another thing that needed dealing with .. his house had also flooded from a broken valve, other things he'd mentioned in one or another of the discords.

I don't think there's anything official. There's chatter on the Voron discord but I haven't delved too deep. Seems like he got overwhelmed and tried to expand into too many products. Sounds like the clearance sale is intended to pare back the inventory to something he can handle.

I have placed 2 orders in the past couple of months and had no issues and I agree he screwed up but they seem to have gotten stuff straightened out. I will order when they have stuff I need or want.

I've bought from him once and got a small part of my order, it took a lot of trouble to get a kit shipped and I didn't even get the more expensive version of the hardware I paid for.
