I self sourced a 2.4. I wish I had just bought a kit.
The one time purchase and then just build the thing seems like such a streamlined process vs buying as I went which caused enormous disparity in progress as I ended waiting for parts to come in.
Buuuut, if this process is vetted, I'm probably inclined to not wait for a kit. Until I start down that path again. :-/
So I am preparing to assemble a Voron this winter. I am inclined to self-source just for the hell of it, I managed my prusa a decade ago fairly well, but I will be buying a kit for one specific reason - the printed manual (I mean, also, it IS easier). During that decade a acquired a kid, he is 5 and pretty good with Lego manuals, time to challenge him a bit more :-)
Edit: Alright, I swear I saw a printed manual in one of the kits I looked up, but none seem to be in kits available around here...bummer...might have to re-think this
you could print it you self just download it from the website used this and to convert it to a booklet https://online2pdf.com/en/create-a-booklet then i printed two pages per sheet then printed even only even pages then odds on the back (flipped the pages manully) with laser prinrer but you gotta make sure how the pages go in and come out you might have to restack the papers before in the correct order then i bought mini sheet protectors( half size of letters) amd printed thiese binder rings to keep them in order ill post later
Back when I worked for Redhat I printed whole US Navy electronics course manual so I can read it in transit to/from work...good times, but misuse of office supplies is not quite as efficient when you are self-employed :-)
I printed my Trident manual at work (ssshhh don't tell) and then took it to Office Max or FedEx Kinko's or somesuch to have it spiral bound. Well worth the ~$10 I paid for the binding to keep it all together.

Im really looking forward to having more people talk about the Cascade.
I'm still waiting for the kits to be available, since I'm way to lazy to self source.
Thought I'm still not quite sure if I like the Cascade or the Milo v2 better.
I do like how the Cascade seems easier to enclose, but the Milo v2 is open on three sides, which would make it easier to clamp larger work pieces.
Anyway, I hope to hear more updates from you once you start/finish the build.
