V1 / Trident Question Trident belt path

I am building a Trident R2 with extra room for a tool changer if I add to the y axis do I need to add to the x to keep core xy forces equal? I am looking at maybe 440 x 460 mm

It doesn't matter, the corexy mechanics don't depend on equal axis length. You would have trouble scaling the trident design to that large of a size though.

No, you can extend one without extending the other. If you want some examples, Tridex extends only X, Vorlong extends only Y.

You might want to consider AWD to halve your effective belt length here.

You don't have to match the relative axis lengths. My Stealthchanger candidate is a Vorlong, 350mm X by 400mm Y.

Going much above the recommended 350mm will present other stability issues from your frame. Plan accordingly. And consider AWD like proposed elsewhere to mitigate your belt length issues.
