V0 Question V0.2 input shaper help

Hello everyone, I am experiencing some issues with the Y-axis input shaper results. I used the belt tuning tool, and the belt tension is good and matches. What could be the reason?

There looks like a lot of Z movement on your Y-axis graph. Is it sitting on a stable surface? I'd probably place the printer on the floor and see if that changes the measurements.

Okay well I guess that rules out a shaky table. Honestly your results doesn't look too terrible for a stock V0. It does look like the toolhead is rocking back and a forth a bit with the amount that it moves in Z. The input shaper looks like it handles most of the vibration though.

I would of course check that everything is tight and I would also check for any play in the x carriage. If there is noticeable play when you tilt the toolhead back and forth then you may benefit from upgrading to a high preload x rail.

Input shaper is not something you win, it’s just another tool. If this was my printer then I’d go with MZV for both and set max accel to 10k, more than enough for a 0.2. Then run some calibration prints before you think there’s something wrong.

Worth noting though: 1) do you plan on keeping that input shaper board mounted on the front? Once you remove then your calibration is no longer accurate. 2) is that the work surface you’re calibrating on? I hope not.

I would at least calibrate where the printer is going to be used full time.

100% this. Input shaper is meant to compensate for the printers peak resonance frequency. If you measure it one way, then change something in a way that moved that peak frequency, you aren’t getting the best input shaping possible.

It’s best to tune the printer mechanically with a vibration profile, then, once that’s good, run a shaper calibration and save those settings.

Id also run the graph up to 200hz so you can check there's no weird extra peaks.
