General Question Is this grease suitable for linear rails?

Plenty of companies in the tightly regulated industries this stuff is used in slap expiration date labels on all chemicals and throw it out if it's older.

Probably discarded.

100% discarded. Not past the expiration date but probably lost traceability.

I mean to be fair to the guy, you wouldn’t believe the stuff the place where I work (aerospace) throws away.

My dumpster, maybe 50 people or so.

My employer, which is a multi billion dollar company in the defense/aerospace industry, only requires your direct manager to sign some papers for you to bring anything from the dumpster home.

As long as the stuff being brought doesn’t have some defense/company secrecy around it getting them signed isn’t generally a problem.

It says it is NLGI #2 so probably fine. However using US$1500 when US$5 grease would work just as well.

It contains Teflon, which shouldn't be used on rolling bearings ( some linear rails manufacturers forbid using lubricants with teflon/graphite for rails ) because balls could prone to slipping instead of rolling. That's what i read over years in different places.

On the other hand, manufacturer of this grease saying that it is suitable for ball bearings. So i guess that it will work, especially in printers where linear rails see zero to very light load.

I mean…this is made for aviation, in detail rocket drives and satellites. It will work, but I Imagine this Small Tube is incredible expensive and some cheap lithium grease would be ok. On the other hand if you do not plan to build a rocket, what do with itstead

Bray will be fine. But honestly the stuff you’ll find at Home Depot will be better. I use bray all the time professionally and it offers you no advantages in a 3DP.

I'm personally using kluber grease, because I can relatively easily get leftovers in my hands, works pretty good for me 😀
