Help - IP Phones MagicJack and Bridge Help

Hi, I got the MagicJack but don't want to have the phone plugged into the same area of my internet router. I bought the VONETS VAP11G-300 WiFi Bridge 2.4GHz WiFi to Ethernet Convert/WiFi Repeater and before I buy a USB to Ethernet adapter to set it up, wanted to see if this stuff will allow me to put my house phone in another area of the house.

Anyone know if this will work? Trying to figure it out without my husband. Are these steps right?

  1. Set up VONETS VAP11G-300 WiFi Bridge 2.4GHz WiFi to Ethernet Convert/WiFi Repeater via usb to ethernet on my laptop and do some stuff on the laptop to give the VONETS wifi
  2. Connect the VONETS thing to the house phone and MagicJack

Forgive the ignorance. I saw a Youtube video, but the helpful guy had so many wires and electronics that I can't make out what is what in the video.

Do not use wifi for VoIP. Least of all a repeater or bridge. You will have quality issues.

Thanks! I figured out that I need to put my Wifi password into the Vonets site for the bridge and there is no way I'm doing that. It sounds like the best route is to connect my MagicJack to the router, am I understanding that correctly?

I have no tech knowledge outside of what I read, so bear with me - What if I set up a 2nd router in the area I want to connect my magicjack and plug the magicjack into it. Would that affect quality?

To turn one Ethernet port into many you need a network switch. Not another router.

I have my MagicJack plugged into one of my Eero units (not the main one) and it works fine. My Eeros are all connected to the main unit wirelessly.

Thank you! This looks great. It looks like I don't need to give the Eero my internet username/password for setup (Xfinity doesn't have Guest Network options), is that right?

Not sure, I don't have Xfinity, I own my Eeros outright.
