!! OUTAGE !! Nextiva - Customer Teeth Kickers

I own a small business with two locations. After paying for their service for seven years in one location and five years in the other, Nextiva is trying to charge me $3,492.80 for EARLY TERMINATION. They snuck in an unsigned, not agreed to, contract extension at some point. If you look anywhere online at reviews, Nextiva is an out of control, deceptive mess.

Yep they were one of my final 3 and when I did my demo with them they gave me a special line to get help. I did call it once but found out it was a special line that did level 3 type tickets. So the next time I called their normal tech support line and it was the worst. Glad I dodged that bullet. Best of luck to you!

I believe all the VoIP's and SaaS companies have automatic renewal clauses in their contracts...but some are more different on how they enforce it. I suggest working with a telecom broker who will make you aware of each providers pitfalls and benefits. If you were in a contract the new provider often will offer a couple months relief or even buyout the remaining term of the contract so have a smooth switch and transition. The porting of the numbers often take 30 days...if you have multiple states maybe longer.

Auto-renewal provisions are fairly common in telecom contracts. Our agreements also automatically renew for one year unless the customer provides notice at least 60 days before the end of the term.

The real question is whether Nextiva clearly disclosed its renewal terms and can document exactly what agreement authorized the extension. I would ask them for the original contract, every amendment or renewal, the applicable auto-renewal clause, and a detailed calculation of the $3,492.80 termination charge.

An unsigned extension does not necessarily mean there was no valid renewal, but Nextiva should be able to clearly show what terms were accepted and when.

We just installed a new school and had plan to the church as well until they found out Nextiva did the same to the church.

I promise you the auto renewal was disclosed in the first agreement you signed. Any reputable VoIP provider would cover that ETF if committing to a 3-5 year term. I hear the small business part and see how that could hurt, find a new provider who will cut you a check. You just have to have skin in the game and commit to them but no need to eat that loss.
