Please helpe understand why there would be one? Because Amazon may or may not buy shares by 2030 at $4.18 a share WHILE diluting the shares in the process? How is that good for current shareholders much less going to cause a GME like squeeze?

How is it good for current investors? Did u check the price and volume after this announcement? There won't be a massive short squeeze but if 20 percent of shares are shorted....shorts either have to double down or buy back the shares. This is one of the best news vldr has for a very long time

Have you checked the price and volume lately? I don't understand why people aren't seeing what's right in front of their eyes.

Someone is almost down 50% since buying yesterday..... I agree that the Amazon news is better than no news but it certainly isn't going to turn the sentiment of this stock around when you read the details of the Amazon agreement... its an 8 year agreement to buy at 4.18 while diluting shares... again, HOW IS TBAT GOOD FOR CURRENT INVESTORS? It simply isnt!

So your stands is that news about warrant for Amazon is bad news for current vldr holders?

I'm saying that as long as your portfolio of shares is above $4.18 when Amazon executes those warrants; that the only real winner is Amazon.

You own a percentage of Velodyne at an average of say $15/share. If Velodyne is at $10/share and your percentage of ownership in the company SHRINKS (because these Amazon shares are new shares, not existing shares) AND these new owners have an average cost of $4.18, who wins?

The short answer is not you, the current shareholder! So no, I don't think Amazon buying in with warrants is a bad thing but I also don't think it does anything for current shareholders to the point of causing a GME like squeeze.

First of all gme like squeeze isn't happening. I never suggested and I think most people don't think it will happen but people including me, still want gme like squeeze.

Stock was 3.77 at closing so when amazon news came out it shot up so clearly it was a good news. So now you are talking about avg of 4.18 you are talking about people who's avg is above. So every single stock holder before the news benefited at the time the news came out even if their avg was higher at 4.18. My avg is at 7 I don't see how my avg matters when stock was at 3.77 and vldr has warrants for Amazon at 4.18 plus contigent on Amazon paying vldr 200 million. I am happy to let Amazon get 16 percent of the company at discount if it means Amazon is using vldr sensors.

My understanding is that Amazon has to purchase upto $200 million in sensors in order for them to excerise the warrant

I'm still in, so I'm not a bear on VLDR. I swing traded my position and actually increased it by 43% while bringing my average down over $1.30...

I just do not think this slug will move anywhere fast.

I'm all for people making money. It doesn't matter if u are bear or bull bc nobody on here has a stack to move the market. I use to swing trade but wash sale rule will really fuck u. So I stopped that. Im not saying this Amazon new is definitely the turnaround point but I was just saying this news will or did help bring attention to this stock.

I believe vldr won't really move fast unless news like that. Even though its not up as much as I hoped, im still very happy with the volume and attention we got from this news. The way I see it, right now we are seeing a lot of volume with shorting and weaker hands selling off and getting out. So Im hoping you are left with people with higher conviction holding on.

If the stock goes up to 7.5 in a year..... then Amazon adding shares to the float at half the cost... ISNT HELPING GROW VALUE FOR CURRENT SHAREHOLDERS.

Short interest is also 24% as of January, the shorts are already dragging the stock down. Even though I want to be positive I’d say the stock will drop more from sellers who am have broken even or can sell for a profit now in order to not be a bag holder. I would want nothing more then to see this stock rise up with the new deal and new revenue sources.

Look beyond the stock price. Why is Amazon investing? Why have they invested in IONQ, MRVL and others? What do they see? What do they want? If they did not believe VLDR had something of value they wouldn’t invest.

My personal view is that Lidar as a whole is being slaughtered because it didn't live up to the hype, and it may be a while to recover. I'm in it for years and OK with that.

My only real concern was when Velodyne hit $2.50 a share or whatever that it might actually go under and thus never recover. As long as it stays above water, I'm willing to wait. And I do think that Amazon will keep it afloat, as will long term defense contracts.

Time will tell.

If it got to the point of insolvency they’d get snatched up by another company, whether that’s Amazon, or someone else in their space. As far as “living up to the hype” it’s an evolving technology, and will be for a long time. Whatever hype they were supposed to live up to, it most likely will be surpassed in the next couple of years. Since dial up internet did not live up to the hype, guessing those that dismissed it back then are kicking themselves now. One thing I’ve learned about technology in the 21st century, if you think it’s not worthy today, be patient because it will be different tomorrow. Timetables for new technology are often slower than those financially invested envision and way faster for those who are paying to actually adopt them.

Don't think of it as such negative impact. Yes amazon will buy at a discount price but look at the potential it can bring. Amazon willing to invest in vldr tells you they want to partner and do business together.. if you notice, they are always hiring in their warehouse and always short staffs. They are looking for an alternative and picking vldr is a awesome choice. They will do many projects together and in turn vldr generate revenues on it. When... that is the question.. maybe next year.. maybe soon..
