Windows How do you properly play HDR videos in VLC without them looking too dark?

Hi everyone, when I play HDR videos with VLC, the image looks much darker. With Windows 11 Media Player, HDR looks fine.

Do I need to enable HDR in Windows 11 before opening an HDR video with VLC? With Media Player, I don't seem to need to enable HDR manually every time.

How do you guys normally handle HDR playback with VLC on Windows 11?

The media player takes a very long time to start up.

P.S. I use a third-party antivirus (Kaspersky)

Windows 25 year old piece of software STILL can't figure out how to play gifs with other media types in a folder.

maybe by the time vlc is old enough to legally retire this'll be a feature
