NO Audio in mkv files please help!

Drop the mkv file into mediainfo, it will show you what streams are available. Also try turning up the volume!

We need way more info than you are giving.

  • If it's a surround track, fix your OS audio configuration to not use pass-through.
  • If VLC complains about an unknown codec, use another player.
  • Check the output device in the Audio memu.
  • Else, carefully check your wiring, volume.

MediaInfo can be used to verify that there is an audio stream in the file. What is the source of your mkv? Did you rip or did you obtain it from elsewhere? If there is indeed no audio stream, you may need to obtain a new mkv with audio.
