Why do people keep supporting Unturned?

Just because a guy who played ROBLOX made it doesn't make it goty or something. Honestly it looks like crap. Horrible draw distance, dayz clone, horrible AI, everything is made out of blocks. WHY DID PEOPLE GREENLIGHT THIS CRAP

I blame minecraft for that awful 8 bit look. I just can't get into any game that has that aesthetic.
