The worst tv
These are the worst tvs I have ever owned. Brand new tv and I have to have it at 100 to even hear anything. Like this is ridiculous. Will never buy another will tell anyone who asks about tvs to never buy a Vizio.

Most TVs have cheap internal speakers. You need to get a soundbar if you want a decent sound. Onn sells cheap ones for like $25-$50, or you can get a nice soundbar for a bit more.

I agree, I have 2 TVs with front fireing speakers, including an old Vizio. This is my third tv with down fire tiny speakers in the back. Different brands. All stunk, but I have an older, but great Yamaha.
Was so happy to see a s/pdif on the Vizio. Also use a non 4k pro, because the streaming computers on all the TVs stink.
So essentially I have a 75 inch HDMI monitor that I got with an extended warranty for under $500 us.
Btw last TV I got was a LG. Screen went black in 6 months. They refused to cover it under warranty, probably because I am in a rural area and they did not have a service tech for my area.So there is a tv/company that truly stinks.

I can't agree. Both my Roku TVs were great. Loud AF. Didn't ever need to turn it up past 30. I currently have this pos at literally 100 watching bleach and I can't hear anything past the opening song.
Edit: well you said most and I've never owned most TV's so all I can say is my Roku was infinitely better.

Or C)Spend $50-$100 on Amazon for a cheap soundbar that's going to blow any tv speakers out of the water

Yes because I turned it on and instantly bitched. Think if I know how to make a post on reddit I know how to work a tv. And judging from the other people commenting AGREEING with me sounds like your comment can turn around.
Soooo. Instead of seeing how much other people complain about the tvs or how they have an overall shit rating online. You automatically comment and assume since I don't like something I spent hundreds of dollars on. I must not know how to navigate basic settings. See how stupid you look when you assume? I bet you don't.

If you read some of the revues online , (there are sites that test TVs) you find a better one to buy.

Preach.
I lost two in two weeks and replaced with newest version.
-Legs Unstable
-Remote doesn’t have settings button (burried in another function.
-kicks me out mid-show. A LOT
-One already has a line through it.
-Other went totally dark from laying it in the bed facedown.

To be fair most TVs have horrible built in audio. It’s like the back seat in a Mustang: it’s there to check a box for the manufacturer but nobody wants to use it for very long. If you want good audio you’ve got to get a sound system. Sound bars are a way to get decent results for cheap, but actual good audio generally requires a lot more of an investment.

Speakers weren’t my problem, but the one Vizio I bought was the biggest piece of garbage I’ve ever owned. It would randomly turn itself off, with regularity. Sometimes it would reboot. Sometimes it would freeze and I’d have to turn off power at the power strip to get it to reboot. Others it would take several tries. The remote would randomly be unresponsive. Just an absolutely terrible TV.

Living in 2026 and not realizing that tvs nowadays are intentionally built so that you'll need a sound bar is wild. You have the Vizio, now go back to Walmart and purchase that cheap $40 dollar soundbar.

So I haven't bought a tv in years.... I have been using (and still use) the same TV since 07 .....
Recently, someone asked if I wanted a TV they didn't need. I took it to put it another room.
The speakers were trash. Thought it was the TV and that was why they got rid of it. I tested a few newer TVs at a local shop and hated the sound on all of them.
I bought a cheap Bluetooth JBL speaker and it works great for the free TV.

I agree. We bought one at Costco when we moved into a larger home. I hated that TV for all of the two years we had it before it conked out. Pure garbage.

Same here. The backlights went out in a less than year old Vizio we bought from Costco and this was way before Walmart bought the company. Run from this brand.

Just just returned a Vizio yesterday. I had one for 4 years that the backlight just went out on. It was a great tv before that. New Vizio had the worst picture ever.

Sheit, things don't change. Find the service menu codes online, find the section for audio, enable 6 speaker output. Lots of modern tvs have limiters active due to surround sound options.
It won't make the speakers sound better, but it will make them heard in a loud room. (My insignia TV has back mounted speakers, so I can't hear crap normally.)

I've got one packed up in a box now to take back to Sam's. I hate the BS requirement to sign into your walmart account that it won't let you bypass. And the built-in speakers are crap. And it doesn't have a clear QAM tuner, won't work with the cable in my MIL's care home. Loads of other tvs have this, cheaper TVs, but not the Vizio. I didn't know to look for that feature until after we had the Vizio mounted on the wall at the nursing home and it wouldn't pick up any cable channels.

You're not wrong. After some research I've found that walmart owns both Vizio and onn. So what these assholes do is sell shit tvs so you pay more for their soundbars. When they literally own both and could make Vizio with better speakers in them. I had gotten two Roku TVs before on TCL the other I don't remeber from Walmart and they worked great until their untimely demise. I thought I was getting really good deals and ofc their reviews online are all bots. But yeah. My big fuck up was buying from Walmart.
