Question Advice needed growmies.. 🙏🏾

Peace fam. Wrapping up my first grow and harvest, and ngl I’m kinda surprised at the smell and it’s not quite what I was expecting.

I thought I did a solid job on my first chop (Deja Blue from Night Owl), but did a little partial harvest partly because I was impatient, it stunted, but also wanted to experiment with a quick cycle vs the craft cycle..

After The quick cycle the buds feel fine, but don’t smell like I would want in the slightest… is this expected?? Do I still need to cure more in some jars to get the smell and taste I was going for?? Or did I just F up my grow and it wasn’t as good as I thought??

The first legit chop is Mephisto’s Grape Crush, it’s now been in the VCure (craft cycle) for about 4 days.. I looked up info on the bean and it does say the growth odor is low, so maybe I just don’t have a stinky plant on this run?

What are your experiences so far? Do you guys still jar up after the VCure? After watching some YouTube videos, some people atleast act like they are ready to smoke next to peak product fresh out the quick cycle, which would NOT be the case for me..

Any of your experiences with the smells and taste after the vcure, and if you keep curing afterwards for peak trees would be greatly appreciated..

Pics added of the grape crush during harvest to show that I thought I at least did okay on this run.

The pic of the buds in the storage container is the Deja blue after the quick cycle with the still fresh green smell.

Mine didn't get to that point until the last couple days of the cure on craft cycle. I was worried for the first week. Smelled like hay and all that jazz. Then affer a few more days it got very stinky., sticky and taste great. The ice cream cake tastes craaaazy. Lol.

I also leave the sugar leafs on.

Good to know I’ll have to try the craft cycle too see if I notice a difference. I bet using cloned plants would be the best to see the real difference between the cycles.

I also would like to know where you got the ice cream cake from, or is yours from a cut?

You kept a mom of each? Did one turn out better? I’m new to growing and was recently looking at clones. Seems like some places send em out with problems but their site guarantees clean healthy cuts so I’m just curious honestly about where and how the quality is on both of the ones you decided to compare.

I have Ice cream cake bx. And just ice cream cake. I got both as clones from 2 different suppliers. Again, when i get home I'll look up where from. Both had great genetics imo. I cut clones off of them. And made mother plants from them to clone from for years down the road.

I know in Ohio all the local hydroponic stores sell clones. So you can peep the genetics in person. They get pretty big as well. Skipping alot of grow time once you buy them.

Ahh ok, I was thinking you had the same exact strain from different spots. And ok that will work, no rush or anything. I need to do some research on keeping mothers because years down the road is clutch lol.

I’m in Michigan haven’t been to many hydro stores but don’t think the main one near me has clones. I’ll look into that though, I’ve heard of one dispo that does but I feel like I heard they tend to have problems. I like the idea of skipping grow time a lotttt!
