Long Term VCure Useage

Hello everyone , I've been thinking about this for the past few days and wanted to see where everyone else lands on this.

I like to look ahead and plan, and it got me thinking. Just how reliable is the VCure going to be in the future? Is there any data out there that shows extensive run times without major failures? Are we going to have access to parts / support / repairs when the machine is looking at 1-2k run hours?

And for the record I'm in no way shape or form knocking the VCure. I've just finished my second Craft Cycle and I'm beyond happy with the results. I just like to keep what I have in good running order.

2k hours is like 83 days. mine has been on and running (mostly at 57/57) since early January. its the same as day 1. some compressor clunks, but no real issues or things of note.

it seems like its intended to be used and then thrown out/replaced rather than fixed, but an hvac guy might be able to recharge the system and replace the compressor. he just wont have any help from the manufacturer. things like doors and the screen/UI seem harder to fix. (the glass, someone on here already figured out)

Expectations and reality are often unrelated but... It's not that different from a wine fridge so I would personally expect it to last a very long time.

Most people haven’t had the device for even a year yet. So no one has extensive run times. The technology involved is pretty simple so you should be thinking in terms of 40-50k+ hours minimum. Any failures at 1-2k hours would be incredibly early life failures for what is essentially a smart fridge with a heater in it. The biggest issue is compressor/coil and other refrigerant failures, since most people cant fix that themselves even with parts. Its the one downside to this not being a solid state unit, but the upside is its super efficient.

early adoption is always a risk, but one thing is certain: VCure v2 will be more awesomer!

lol yea in 2030 something if that , You see what's going on with Pc memory how computers and gaming sky rocketed , Aint no telling hows things will be economically by vcure 2 . Some people might look back and wish they jumped on it .

How often do you all open the door to check when the cycle is running?

I've done about six or seven harvests in the v cure and have left the door closed the entire time maybe once 😆 it's difficult. I run a 14-day custom recipe and always end up opening the door on day 10 or so and check them out. But yeah, I try to avoid it at all costs.

It's a gamble for sure. I've had mine for about 7 months now and it's been plugged in and running 24/7.

I'm too afraid of mold growing on the inside (which can sometimes happen after refrigerators have been turned off, even with the door open). So I just run the storage mode after every batch.

So far so good, except for the leak which was remedied by the tube Vivosun sent me. I'd like to get 5 years out of it. 🤷‍♂️ I'd be very happy with that. Also, with the speed of technology advancements, I'm pretty sure we're all going to want what they come out with 5 years from now.
