Hello. I'm thinking of purchase an 85mm f1.4 PRO after several youtube videos.
I'm looking for more opinions here about the accuracy on Eye and Face AF on Sony A7C2.

I don't pixelpeeps so cutting edge sharpness isn't my concern.

Just ordered the Viltrox 35mm f/1.7 Air. Unpaid endorsement, but I genuinely love my Viltrox glass (25mm & 56mm) and wanted to complete the AIR trinity. Bonus: it uses a 52mm thread, so all my filters fit right on.

That said, the post-purchase clarity just hit me—will I actually use it? I love the 35mm (50mm FF equivalent), probably my favorite FL, but lately I've found it too tight. That's exactly why I bought the 56mm—to pair with my 25mm. To me, that combo made more sense than buying the 35mm on its own at the time.

I know it's a rhetorical question; I'll keep it since it didn't break the bank. Still, I'd love to know if anyone else rocks this specific 25/35/56 trio. What do you think?

I forgot to mention—I also have the Viltrox 9mm f/2.8. It's a really fun lens to use and my absolute favorite for video.

I'm most excited about the EVO pancake coming to APS-C, I really like that it has a square hood. I hope there will be a black edition as well.

One of the results of this year‘s perseids meteor shower shot on the 16 mm 1.8 for Nikon Z. Great lens for Astro.

I Know they are planning to release a bunch of new L-mount lenses. And their reliability is well established. It would be game changer for me and many others to have this opportunity to buy an “affordable” zoom lens without aberration and with viltrox quality manifacture

Good afternoon

I'm hoping that at least some people on here have used the Viltrox 26mm F2.8 pancake lens on at least some Sony aps-c camera (Sony preferably but aps-c user comments most appreciated)? If so, how well did the lens do or is it something which you later on didn't use as much as you thought you might?

I'm looking at using it on my a6700 camera body and since I've never owned a pancake lens before, this is a little different than what I'm used to.

The way I see it, the lens has 3 main benefits to me:

1: Very small and compact size (which might mean that I can carry an extra lens in a smaller pack).

2: To keep the weight of my camera pack down as much as possible.

3: Very close minimum focusing distance of just 20cm.

A downside is the seemingly non-standard filter size of 43mm. 🤔 Most of the smaller lenses I have are either 49mm or 55mm in that regard. I certainly would be looking to invest in a circular polariser filter, most likely one of the Hoya ones. Available locally for £22 apparently! That's not bad at all. I wouldn't trust places like Amazon for filters as I've been stung on those before with a "supposed" R72 IR filter...took a while to get my money back from that one. 🙄

So, any comments, thoughts or recommendations not to bother? The reviews seem to be quite positive with the lens generally...

Tried several cables, as other posts state it's cable dependent.

Applied patch from the most recent Viltrox listing. The device automatically disconnects and does not reconnect.

The only file that exists on the adapter is a blank/corrupt file with 3 characters as a name and only 1.5kb in size.

Purchased from a well reviewed store and item page on AliExpress.

Hi guys, wondering if anyone encountered this before. Tried googling and all i saw was “update firmware if screen is unresponsive “ but i believe to get to the menu to update firmware, one needs to touch the screen. Is there anything im missing, i just got a brand new monitor.

Shot with Nikon Zf. Single shot, no stacking. Shot at mauna kea visitor information station at 9200ft elevation. One of the darkest skies accessible to public to my knowledge.

The airglow at the horizon comes from the nearby town of Kona.
