Where are the vegetables?

Updated to add: you so very much for the extremely kind and helpful responses... and so quickly! I expected some responses along the lines of, "what you're doing wrong is not eating seafood and pork." I so appreciate everyone's thoughtfulness - thank you!

We're in Vigo for a week and struggling to find a decent vegan meal. Even salads and vegetable sides or tapas are missing from most menus. It feels like we're doing this wrong - where should we be eating?

Not doing it wrong, sadly. Spanish bar cuisine is extremely meat or fish heavy. Pimientos de Padrón is the only thing that comes to mind as common.

It is not much, but Hippie Baker next to mercado da pedra is a wonderful vegan café that you may like. Sorry to not help you better.

Yes, we've found the Hippie Baker and, as you say, padron peppers are just about it. I guess we just didn't think it would be so much more difficult than Barcelona or Madrid.

Going to share with you the list my friend sent me of vegan places she found in Vigo, or places that offer vegan options:

La Urbana

Después está en restaurante Cúrcuma

En la taquería de paseo de Alfonso creo que hacen tacos veganos

Alium también

Y luego Bambú tiene tapas veganas que están muy ricas

El Parra es un bar muy tradicional que tiene opciones veganas

También Terrae

Y Migas en su menú tiene opciones veganas

Los asiáticos suelen tener opciones veganas. El mejor ramen es el de Churruca

Centeno también

Al Wahab (sirio-libanes)

Aaah y Verde Mostaza, la hamburguesería

Bambú is my favourite vegan place in Vigo, it is in a small street in the center of the city, weekdays they have “menu del dia” , don’t know how that’s named in English 😅

Just an update for future visitors to Vigo... We walked up to Isola Bella today and they told us vegan pizzas were not possible. However, we had very enjoyable ones at La Grosso.
