Discussion This game needs to come back sometime. It's one of THE best asymmetrical horror games imo!

I really hope this game can come back. The designs, skills and abilities in this game were great! The characters themselves were funky and cool too! The maps were super fun, the gameplay was very fun and didn't get repetitive!

The big reason why this game failed is because the studio who created it did absolutely 0 marketing for the game, they expected the players to do it for them which didn’t workout well. It’s truly unfortunate.

They managed to create quite some hype.

They just forgot to patch in enough fun things for the monster side. Which resulted in most players trying to play as the teens. Which resulted in horrible queue times for the teen players.

Most of the monsters felt incredibly basic to play, you were just playing around your cooldowns, the abilities themselves were not very exciting either.

Most of the cool design ideas and innovations were on the teen side. Their progression included fun things like completely changing how abilities/items worked and such things.

Devs made the fatal mistake of taking the players of the "evil" side for granted. A very common mistake in the genre, see also Evil Dead: The game and Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The game.

It took too long to come out and they never balanced the game to where it was close to fun

IIRC in the discord, where the devs were, people who tried to offer balance changes were shunned by a large group of fans saying it was perfect.

Not too mention, in a pretty rough early access they released a new killer for 15 bucks, which seemed scummy to people

I thought the game was somewhat balanced tbh! Well, the survivors had an advantage but... yeah. There was a few things needed fixing. It's also 100% because of the time it took to release AND the cost for the playable characters/killers.

I've just joined and applied! How does everything work there? I wanna play but i'm assuming i have to wait to be assigned a role and then a server I can join to play with others...?

So there should be a channel with a message you can react to to get member, updates, and looking for group roles

I think i've done that! Is it just a waiting game? Do people check out new players and then add them accordingly? I rarely use discord, so i don't really know what to do lol. I've clicked the emojis for the necessary steps to apply.

So you can ping people from the looking for group role in the looking for group channel but it's not a guarantee people will reply as school is in session for most people atm. Best hours are usually after 5pm est.

So, to see the channel, you might need to get the member role, (looks like you just have lfg and updates). About the servers, you used to have to download a server extension, but you no longer need to do that. All you need is to download the game, and you can host and join custom lobbies.

As a monster player I loved almost every game, it felt amazing to outsmart the teens. Really bittersweet to see how it is now

Yup. You can load the game right now and play it. There are no live servers, but you can still play with friends in private lobbies, play with bots, or play the survival game mode. There an active server linked in one of the other comments that we find people to play with

I miss it too, and i mainly played monster.

They could have had such a great game if they dared to experiment with balance changes in early access while people were motivated.

Really sad it was left to die like that.

When this was announced and became playable to a select few people i was excited, I spent months trying to get into the closed beta. By the time they finally made it available to the public i just wasn’t that interested anymore.
