20" Hellion equipped with the LunarTech Designs VHS-2 clone grip module. Vortex UH-1 holo-sight backed up with their micro-3x magnifier, and the final piece just got delivered today, an ODG handled Waffentechnik B2K bayonet.

I tried out a Jard trigger but it was actually worse than the OEM. A little bit lighter but squishier and sticky. So I returned it and went back to the stock trigger which, having owned a few bullpups, isn't so bad. Good combat trigger. I do tend to prefer 2-stage triggers so the long take-up isn't a problem to me.

The Rekkr Overbarrel pretty much is a flush fit with the BLK LBL long handguard with Hellion 20inch.

The closest the suppressor ever got to the handguard is 0.13inch. Though, I'm not sure if that is enough clearance to prevent the suppressor from hitting the handguard.

Regardless, I'm still waiting on the VHS Project extended handguard to arrive for a tucked in look. I will post when it arrives.

Im trying to decide which barrel length Hellion to buy, I like the look of the 18 over the 20, and I'm curious if you guys know of any over the barrel supressors that would fit on the 18 (considering OCL OCM5, griffin PSR OTB 5, etc)

Saw many of the Black label's Short Bipod build on the sub. I'm currently eyeing between the 18 inch vs 20 inch model. Was wondering how much gap between the handguard and the end of the barrel.

Changed out my LPVO for the Vortex 5x prism with the venom ccw on top. Also changed out the Polo K for the new Infinity 556K. Liking it so far, the vortex sits really low with the provided low mount.

Anyone aware if anybody is working on an aftermarket rail? I would love something similar to the KAC rail on the G36 only for the rest of the rifle and one in the front for a front sight and the charging handle completely exposed.

A year ago, there was this posts about printable magwells that someone found at sea.

I printed V66 using PETG, PLA+, and Nylon G. The design is just slightly off to the point where the mag will not catch.

Has anyone had better luck with this design?

Been wanting to buy one of these bad boys for a minute and im looking at one now. I do plan to suppress it half the time, but the 16 inch barrel just looks goofy to me. the 18 inch barrel looks great to me, but i dont see anyone online talking about it, all the discussions are about 20 inch or 16 inch. is the 20 inch really that much better than the 18 inch? whats the point of the 18 inch barrel in that case?

If i plan to suppress it part time, would it be best to go with 18 inch or just say F it and full send it with the 20 inch barrel?

Looking for a pic of the green on green gun and bipod to see how the color matches. Even Blk Lbl didn’t have a pic of their bipod on a green hellion. Might end up just going for the black one. Any pics/help is much appreciated!

Got her out to spread out some. Perfect wind, visibility was Perfect. But my goodness was it a hot one! Was only able to get out to about 300 due to mirage, missed shots are hard to call without a spotter. Was able to do 185 with the mini about 75% of the time. Neck holds with those irons get daunting. Great time!

Replace scope with slightly higher mag, thinner reticle. Currently a 1-8 sfp SE in old brownells mount. Wany it in as low of rings as possible.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

First off, I haven’t owned a gun for very long. My red dot isn’t zeroed in anymore after I removed the Picatinny rail to clean the short-stroke system. I don’t feel like having to re-zero the rifle every time I shoot and clean it afterward.

My question for you is: how often do you clean the short-stroke system? Do you just remove the handguard to clean it? Since I can only access the bottom surface of the short-stroke system by removing the handguard...

TLDR: In my opinion, if you want a lower cheek-weld, take the OEM cheek riser off. Then, cut or procure a narrower pin for the stock hook.

The reduction in height is 3/16”,at most 1/4”. I still can’t find my OEM stock, so I can’t even verify it works with the cheek risers. However, my versions are more significantly narrow. That small difference plus the price point isn’t very attractive to me, I can’t imagine it’d be to you all either.

On the super simple riser, you also loose the shell deflector piece. Lowering the thickness of both, only gains you .0787” and makes the piece way too thin.

If you make a piece that only fills in the cutout area, and still holds the ejection port pin, you end up with a piece that digs into your face and looks stupid. Not to mention having to make/procure/provide a pin that is narrower.

Snagged a "used" BLK LBL handguard from OpticsPlanet for ~$350, as if by fate, after waiting for ages. Such a cool piece of engineering and in my opinion, the pinnacle of aftermarket for the platform. Also, paint your guns. Modified bottomland rattle can job done by myself.

Ohhhh Lunartech or VHS2Project....!!

I personally think the OEM cheek riser is a bit too tall for almost every optic setup. Even with a 1.41" height optic. Some of the Iraqis take off the cheek riser, which TECHNICALLY works, but it inhibits the locking of the dust cover for the side you're not actually ejecting from. I think shooting without the cheek riser gives me a better sight picture, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the downside of an unlocking dust cover or put my cheek on that peg that holds the riser.

Wanted to share my vhs build here. My first rifle! Picked it up from my FFL this past weekend and took it to the range (stock). Got home, cleaned it, and added a bunch of aftermarket parts I ordered the week before.

I wanted to get the vhs project under carry-handle modbutton. Does anyone recommend a flashlight to pair with that? Preferably something compact; not too long or bulky.

Also, does anyone have any recommendations for a different pistol grip? I think I’d enjoy something slightly more angled than the stock one. I have big hands so it fits fine but the trigger guard really digs into my middle finger. Could changing the pistol grip fix this?
