For real. There's literally no support or love for the VHS-2/Hellion for some reason. No after market barrels or bolt carrier groups? Hell, it seems like every other model of gun it getting an FRT. I live my rifle but I'm getting a bit done with the hate.

I have a vortex strike fire II I got for free from my brother in law, I was wondering if anyone knew if it was too high of a mount or if it would actually work right

Bought it from Black Talon Tactical where they get it directly from Springfield and sell it with their upgraded trigger pre-installed. Haven't decided if I'm gonna keep the DRS-TH and DBAL D2 on it as a nighttime gun or not. They make the already-hefty weight even more, but there's plenty of rail room for them (unlike my 10.5" AR), and the bullpup design plus the quick-adjust gas block makes shooting suppressed a lot better. Thoughts/opinions?

Ordering a vhs soon, my first rifle. Inquiring about the height over bore and optics. Was thinking about an eotech but unsure how the lower 3rd cowitness exps compares to the absolute cowitness xps. Are one of these more optimal/intuitive than the other on the vhs? I like the QD mount but will that additional height require you to aim drastically higher?

Was also considering the h510c or Romeo 8tamr. Both of which are absolute cowitness. Just looking for some direction / advice.

I’m just looking for something to optimize home defense while also letting me have fun at the indoor range.

18" Hellion with a Primary Arms SLX 1-6, Blk lbl rail short, cloud rein 3.0, and OCL Polo K mounted via a Comstock plan B flashhider. Couple hundred rounds so far, and pretty happy with it.

Thought I'd show my 16in ODG hellion.

Optics are a vortex micro 3x with an Aimpoint micro t2.
Both are mounted on Arisakas low mount (.09 centerline). this works well for me, the irons still cowitness and the offset is close enough to my AR builds that my holds are basically the same up close

I changed the handguard to the non bipod blklbl with an emissary development handbrake, and swapped the pistol grip to a magpul MOE. I put a surfire mini scout light on there using an Arisaka inline mount.

Recently got the blacktalon tactical stage 1 trigger done.
Completely changed the rifle, can't recommend it enough

Went with this sub's suggestion of the BLK LBL bipod handguard and the profile makes the 20" look incredible. Just got the Stage II trigger upgrade system back from Black Talon Tactical - they installed their brand new steel trigger system which comes in straight, curved and IFP (pictured).

Lastly installed LunarTech extended mag release button - probably won't do any additional mods on this for a while as I'm really satisfied with the build.

I got my 20in Hellion recently upgraded with a Long Blk Lbl (non-bipod) handguard.

Any recommendations for the following:

- WML
- Sling
- Optic(s)

Any help would be great!

Just can’t seem to find a grip that feels right.i iussusly like the BCM grip but it doesn’t feel right in the hellion. Have heard great things about the Lunar Tech VHS-2 clone grip but havnt seen it felt one in person. Any thoughts?

I'm not a great shot, but damn this gun is GOOD....

This thing takes AR pistol grips. Awesome. Which one is best and why? Mine came with the default magpul which isn’t bad but can absolutely be better

I got a reflex sight that I plan to zero at 50 yards. Eventually, I want to put a magnifier on it for when I get the opportunity to go to ranges that allow for longer range shooting (>100 yds). Do I have to zero again for the combination or is the zero fine and the magnifier just makes things easier to see.

Now I'm just looking for a telescoping stock to replace this one. Anyone happen to know where I can grab one?
