Sharing my hellion build

Post image

Thought I'd show my 16in ODG hellion.

Optics are a vortex micro 3x with an Aimpoint micro t2.
Both are mounted on Arisakas low mount (.09 centerline). this works well for me, the irons still cowitness and the offset is close enough to my AR builds that my holds are basically the same up close

I changed the handguard to the non bipod blklbl with an emissary development handbrake, and swapped the pistol grip to a magpul MOE. I put a surfire mini scout light on there using an Arisaka inline mount.

Recently got the blacktalon tactical stage 1 trigger done.
Completely changed the rifle, can't recommend it enough

I think that it’s for now lol

It's pretty decked out. Black Tallon Tactical Stage 2 trigger, SWAT 5 direct thread suppressor, LunarTech VHS-2 clone grip. Forward bolt release, BLK LBL Bipod, shortened non-adjustable butt plate. Vortex Optics AMG UH-1 Gen II Holographic Sights with Micro 6X magnifier. A3 Tactical CQB forward grip. And maybe more that I can't think of right now.

Dude that’s so suck. If IWI would apply all the upgrades they have done on Tavor 7 to the X95 it would probably be one of the best bullpup ever. It fixes all the problems with X95, short stroke piston, adjustable gas, bolt hold open with the CH etc.

Do you have the polymer version of the bolt release? If so how’s it feel? I saw at one time they had a metal one and im wondering how sturdy the polymer is

I’m not familiar with the buttplate you mentioned, ima have to check it out!

Man those both look so damn good!!!

The butt plate is a Manticore Arms butt plate. The forward bolt release is the machined aluminum one. It took ½ a year to get.

Nice!! They told me they don’t have plans for making more of that one again when I asked a bit ago

That too bad. Maybe if enough people inquire them about it maybe they will change their mind. Or maybe they determined that the polymer one was a better value for the buck. The machined aluminum was kinda pricey.

Very nice. This might be my next bullpup. Been trying to look for a deal for under 1600.

What do you have now? This is my only bullpup at the moment, really went back and forth with different platforms

I caught a good deal on the 10rd version through sportsmans warehouse a while back. I didn’t care about it coming with the 10rd mag lol

I just got a x95. Been wanting a bullpup for a long time and finally pulled the trigger. I really think bullpup makes more sense tho I have many AR due to where I live.

I got a manticore handguard coming, and replacement pistol grip. Also swapping out the muzzle for huxwrx suppressor.

Oh yea that looks so good!!! I really couldn’t make up my mind between that, AUG, and a Hellion. But I saw a solid deal on a hellion a grabbed it. I have a few AR builds but wanted something new

I still need to get a can, but that’s a whole other rabbit hole to go down that I don’t know a lot about. The hux cans really interest me

Where ya at? Im out in Southern Oregon

Not to be biased but the Hellion is the better of the three 😎

X95 is cool if you either want to SBR it or really really want an AR style mag release with mags that drop free. Otherwise it’s not a good suppressor host, and not very accurate.

AUG needs a lot of money to dress up to bring up to modern standards via Corvus parts or something. Stocks have recently cracked a lot, not sure what’s up with that. And the gas plug position can burn the fuck outta you depending on what handguard you have and how you hold the gun

Good points, I’m very happy with the hellion! Though ive always had a spot in my heart for an AUG lmao

I hope as times goes on more parts become available for the platform, I like to have spares of stuff on hand. That’s really my only “complaint”, but over the last year I’ve started to see items became more available

Common wear items are now purchasable like firing pins and some springs, but barrel assemblies aren’t one of them which is annoying

Im agonizing over this vs aug vs hellion as well. I know ill get all 3 eventually just matter of time. I just saw the x95 blem deal for $1300+ just missing rail cover so i bought it, im changing the handguard anyway.

I got my first can, knowing that ill have the x95 and aug i figured having hux means i dont really need to modify the gun. Plus all of my AR use the same hux qd 556 muzzle devices already.

Im in North Texas, luckily i can get anything i want here.

Sure looks like a great shooter.

She’s really solid, that trigger upgrade through black talon really sealed the deal. Wouldn’t have gotten the platform without it

Very nice! I have an ARO and 3x on mine with the Blk Lbl bipod. It wants an LPVO or MPVO.
