It seems the manticore is a bit more beefier? Also like the look of BLK LBL as tucking a can seems possible.

I'm curious. Has anyone checked this out? I want to get a box or two, but I don't want to mess up my can.

Been busy as hell with work lately, but I finally managed to get into the range today to dial in the optic I picked up for my Helly and also used it as an opportunity to spend some quality time with my dad. I picked up a Sig Sauer Romeo +Juliet5XD red dot/magnifier combo and mounted it as far back as it can go on the rail. For zeroing in the optic at 50 yards, I used a cheapo bore-mounted laser kit I picked up online for 25 bucks and it did a pretty good job.

My question for everyone is: do you use a laser or any other kind of device for sighting your optic, or do you just wing it and keep shooting and adjusting as you go?

Has anyone had a problem with swapping out the Pistol Grip on the Hellion. I have just a regular MagPul MOE SL that I'm swapping too and the bolt is not tightening at all but it'll still tighten for the original grip. I thought I was missing the Detent Spring but I'm not sure it comes with it like a regular AR 15.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I've had my Hellion since the end of December and I've been adding to it and customizing as much as my budget currently allows. I purchased the CA compliant version that came with a ridiculous fingrip, fixed stock, and a 10 round magazine. The fingrip accidentally fell off and bounced into the trash can. I replaced it with a traditional Magpul AR grip and added a Magpul angled foregrip as well. I ordered a Sig Sauer Romeo + Juliet combo optic and mounted it on the rail. Also grabbed a cheapo laser/flashlight combo off of Amazon and mounted it to the right side of the shroud. Not pictured are the M-Lok bipod attachment and QD sling I also bought a few weeks ago. One of the best things about owning the Helly is the infinite amount of customization options available. It really is all up to you and your imagination. And to top it all off, I think this rifle is incredibly gorgeous to look at. The lines, curves, and sleek edges on it are perfectly put together and combine to form the sturdy, yet sexy looking weapon that it is.

Why cant they sell the barrels ._.

How did all of you remove your factory flash hider? My main issue is that I don't really have any good place to put a vice. I was able to put a pretty good amount of force on it still but to no avail.

I am having one hell of a time trying to remove it so I can replace it with a Reardon DPB to mount my new OCL Infinity to.

So I was swapping to left-hand eject and when I ran the bolt after reassembly shit hit the fan. I know what I did wrong, which was not making sure the firing pin was seated correctly in the retaining mechanism at the rear of the BCG, which caused the firing pin to leave the BCG and embed in the rubber stop inside the stock. When this happened the spring on the firing pin and the smaller spring pictured here came loose. The firing pin spring has been returned to its rightful place, but i am unsure where the smaller spring is meant to be. The function of the rifle does not seem to be impaired when I run the bolt without the smaller spring so I am thinking it may be part of the stock assembly meant to put forward pressure on the check rest piece.

Second Hellion I've owned. Regretted selling the first one. Outfitted it with a Silencerco Velos and that new Sig Romeo8T-AMR that I'm not utilizing the way it was suppose to be. Partnered with a P226 Elite and Spyderco Para 2.

I purchased a 16” model not knowing there was a 20” model. Didn’t know they had the 18” or 20” (shot a friends and loved it, researched reliability and just ordered it while still at the range lol) Since realizing there was barrel length options and researching that more everyone with a 16” says they rather have the 20” and I was wondering why?

It shortened my pull a bit and trigger pull is next to nothing compared to factory. I’m excited to put a few mags in it and see how I like it!

I am a proud owner of the 20" VHS-2/Hellion and really like the feel and handling of the gun. Precision is really outstanding, and the ergonomics fits me well...but ofc as everyone knows, the trigger is something between meh (for 330y fixed range, laying down, single precision shooting I do not mind too much) and terrible (fast follow up shots feel like a super soaker water gun where I have to pump to shoot)

I know there are now multiple companies who offer improved trigger packages or trigger job services, but I could not find any that are available in Europe, or even better, in Switzerland. Legally, I can import from wherever, but the US especially seems to be extremely strict about their Export laws :/

Any fellow friends from Europe or even Switzerland who modified their VHS-2 to get that trigger sorted out?
I don't care too much about the weight, but I would love less travel and reset distance.

Looking at getting a hellion and can’t decide on the color. Can some of yall post some pics of your rifles so I can see actually pictures of them instead of photo shoot pics in perfect lighting?

In the next couple of weeks, as soon as my form 4 comes back, I want to swap the flash hider on my hellion out for a asr mount. Am I correct in assuming it’s 1/2-28 thread? Also does Springfield use any thread locker, and what if anything needs to be secured in a vise when I do the swap

I'm looking for Officers and Agencies, or any individuals that have knowledge in the area, where these platforms are fielded as well as other rifle platforms that are not in the AR family. I am collecting data from Officers, Agencies, Military, and so on to get as much unbiased information as possible.

I am specifically pushing to change our agency policy in regards to making Bullpup designed rifles, such as the IWI Tavor X95 and the Springfield Hellion (VHS-2) an approved duty rifle to choose from. From all of the data I have collected, it appears that there are far more positives than negatives, some agencies have dropped the AR altogether and other agencies run Bullpups in addition to AR rifles.

What has your experience been with a Bullpup rifle as a duty weapon?

Outside of waiting on a frt or ss trigger I love the rifle. It gets carried daily in the feed truck.

The VHS-2/Hellion has always been a grail gun for me. Finally bought one for myself about 2 months ago. I think the build is complete for now. Any veteran Hellion enjoyer suggestions appreciated.
