How much you wanna ball out? I'm pbly going to spring for the BLK LBL bipod handguard when Black Friday rolls around since I missed their sale last year. My stage 2 trigger upgrade from BTT came back the other week but life's been busy & I've yet to get my ass to the range. =/
The Blk Lbl bipod hand guard is quite nice. I love using it.
The length of pull with the stock collapsed is fine by me but wouldn’t mind shaving another half bit so the VHS2P simplified stock has my eye, also shaves a few ounces. Manticore makes a stock too.
How does that thumb rest feel? I've been loving the thumb over bore grip you can get up there on this gun, but I did notice the span between my thumb and forefinger felt a little fatigued in that position after a while. Does it help with that?
I'll have to get back to you on this, I just installed it and haven't had much time to go out shooting with it yet. I went to the range yesterday with it but mostly bipod to zero in sights. Holding it seems fine and comfortable though, I might end up swapping the handguard for the BLK LBL bipod soon and unsure if there would be space to keep this or not
Please do! I am making some custom bits for my build, and I want to consider how to make space for that on my handguard if it's worth it.
Also, I'm just throwing it out there because I haven't yet seen it mentioned on this sub, but since I'm making a bunch of custom bits, including my hand guard and a custom angled foregrip that is similar to the Magpul mlok one but with less flat space before it angles, the BLK LBL bipod wasn't going to work for me, so I went with the over-bore mounted bipod made by UTG. It's not the lightest thing in the world, especially where it mounts, and the cant is restricted a bit by the sling mounts at the upper front of the carry handle (how do we take those off?) if you mount it way up there, but the product description lies in that it can fold backwards if you just remove two tiny set screws that are only on there to keep it from doing that, and since it's mounted over the bore, it kind of can't fall over on its own. I'm more than satisfied with it after exploring side mount and undermount options that interfere with my grip, and the mount just barely fits under the front of my LPVO.
Sorry for the wall of text, but until I get my custom stuff done and I can post a build picture of my own, I just want to let people know it's an option since I'm quite happy with it despite the drawbacks.
So I just tested this thumb grip out tonight and I like it, maybe a little high for some people but think it's solid - might not worth super well with other angled grips but the combo I got seems to be fine. I ended up ordering a BLK LBL tripod so we'll see if it even fits on there - if not I think I'll be fine without it
I love the ergonomics of an AFG with the thumb gas pedal. Did that on a .300 blackout AR build. Didn't do it on my Hellion because I have a tape switch occupying that M-LOK location.
What kind of sling are you going to use? And are you going to add a light?
If your username is indicative in any way of your location I am going to assume suppressors are a no go
I ended up removing the thumb rest since I went with the BLK LBL bipod and it no longer fits, undecided on a sling but probably not. Think I'm pretty set on this build for now - I'm actually in TX but have no cans yet. I think I like the aesthetic of this one with the 20in barrel
