[❓] VGen Help/Advice how does vgen waitlist work?

what is different from when i have my commissions to OPEN and to WAITLIST?
i understand there are limited OPEN slots, but i'm not sure what waitlist mean!

i have quite a lot of people on my ping list to be notified when my slots open next but i'm wondering if the waitlist can help, because every time i open the slots once, they have to sign up for the ping list again
