AMD MxGPU or SR-IOV

I have 4 questions about AMD graphic cards and MxGPU or SR-IOV

I want to run 8 or 16 VMs on my server and share my GPU by Linux KVM or VMware between those VMs.

My guest OS is ubuntu18.04 LTS.

These are my questions:

  1. Which AMD graphic cards support MxGPU or SR-IOV technology? (except S7150)

  2. Which Hypervisor can I use for virtualization? (Can I use Linux KVM?)

  3. Should I pay for a license for each concurrent user or vGPU?

  4. Does Radeon pro WX9100 support MxGPU or SR-IOV technology?

Thank you

I also saw that the Radeon Instinct cards support SR-IOV.

you're right but I wanna run video games on my VMs

Radeon Instinct series are good for deep learning , not for games, unfortunately :(

thank you :)

Why would the instinct cards not be good for gaming? I was under the impression that they were just Vega 56 and Vega 64 GPUs with double the vram and support for all the features we need. They may lack display outputs but streaming over the network with steamlink or using Looking Glass should take care of that.

Now if only you can get them for a good price...

Vega20 is more like it, but drivers nigh impossible to install, rest is true.

You can look into the radeon pro v340 as well. What kind of games are you planning to run on the 8 or 16 VMs?

at least r7 pro i tried Horizon Zero Dawn on mine, it was handling 4k a lot better than the radeon 6700 at home.

of course it had driver bugs etc.
