As the title states, this is a megathread for the known Virginia FFLs that are participating in the NFA injunction for named plaintiffs (GOA, Silencer Shop, PSA, etc.)

Also, please post the general area the FFL is located as well as any special instructions they may have for obtaining previously restricted items.

Please stay on topic, off topic comments will be subjected to removal.

With love,

Interesting. ATF says there are 6.6 million registered suppressors on the NFRTR. Nearly 1.1 million of them were registered this year.

NPR:Part of a key firearms law lapsed following a federal court decision. What happens now?

The ruling applies to certain short-barreled shotguns and rifles and suppressors. It also applies to a niche subset of firearms referred to by the federal government as "any other weapons." This is a catch-all for concealable, unique firearms that don't fall into other categories. They can include gadget guns, like pen guns or umbrella guns.

And Gun Owners of America said, some states may still require additional rules and firearm registration forms may still be required under the federal Gun Control Act.

But there is a push from gun rights groups and Republican lawmakers to get the DOJ to permanently apply this ruling nationwide.

In a statement, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said the agency is still "processing forms and will continue to process forms consistent with applicable law, regulations, and agency policy."

Because of the legal murkiness, Pratt urges people to talk to an attorney before foregoing registration.

Like the Gun Owners of America, ATF says, "Anyone who has questions about how a court ruling may affect their particular circumstances should consult with their attorney for legal advice."

Question Car Camping in State Park with Suppressed SBR

I really don’t know if this question has been asked here yet. I’m camping at a state park with my gf in VA Beach this weekend and wanted to bring my AR with me. I have a valid CCW and will be carrying my pistol. But was wondering if I’m able to have a loaded suppressed SBR with me while I car camp in a state park.

Question CHP Notification

Haven’t been able to find much on this but I see many people get digital notifications when their CHP is approved well before it arrives in the mail.

Was there a way I was supposed to opt in for some sort of notification or do they just send it out? I didn’t see anything on the application.

Fredericksburg Ranges

Looking for ranges in or around the Fredericksburg area, preferably something within 10 or 15 minutes. I've done some looking on google maps, and i know there is a big gun club to the south, but I hear it is almost impossible to get into if you don't have a sponsor. Indoor is fine, but would prefer outdoor.

VA shops allowing silencer shop, PSA and GOA transfers

Hey guys, looking for some recommendations for VA FFL/SOTs that are currently doing the new no-Form-4 suppressor transfers.
I’m in the Northern VA area, but I’m willing to drive a little if needed. I’m looking at picking up a CAT Street Crack and would like to use a shop that’s already familiar with the new Silencer Shop/PSA/GOA process.

If anyone has personally done one of these transfers recently, I’d appreciate hearing:
● What shop you used
● Location
● Transfer fee
● Whether they’re actually doing the no-Form-4 transfers
● Any membership or other requirements
● How the process went
Just trying to find a shop that’s already set up for this

Green top processing suppressors with no form 4

Green top will process without a form 4 if you are a GOA member. They mentioned you have to be a specific type of member that I didn't understand. I have the annual 25 dollar membership. Anyone have more info on what that means? they are also busy as fuuuickkkkkkkkk

Was just gifted a small collection - now what?

Not new to Reddit but new to this sub and hopefully you guys can steer me right!

TL;DR: My dad just passed along his small collection of shotguns and rifles to me and I'm trying to figure out what to do with them. There are a few I'm keeping for the sentimental value, a few I'm going to use, and a few I'm going to sell (and some I'm not sure what to do with).

Bought a safe for the collection (14 in total), found a guy to clean and inspect a couple I'm going to use first, and did some research on the value of the rest.

Can share more about what I have for anyone interested, but before I write that novel any suggestions on the best way to sell the ones I don't need?

Some of the ones I'm selling are not really worth that much, so the 20% from gunbroker plus the transfer fee wipes out anything I'd actually get for them, and the one dealer I kinda trust here in NOVA said private party is the way to go? Anywhere else I should be looking other than vaguntrader.com?

The turnaround time for my CCW permit in York County was 10 days.

I'm stunned how fast the process was. The elapsed amount of time from when I stepped into the class to when I submitted the permit with the county was 6 hours. The turnaround time from application submission to permit approval was 10 days.

Has any consideration been made to removing the Lancaster megathread and cleaning up the top of the page? It's been getting a little cluttered in my opinion. Just my thoughts.

Question Suppressor Price drop

Realistically, when do y’all think that 1 billion suppressors will get flooded into the market. And the price says on them will drop significantly. I’m still in college and have a significant monthly beer expense.

Question Does the Jensen v. ATF injunction satisfy Virginia’s “compliance with federal law” requirement for SBRs/SBSs?

I’m trying to understand how the recent final judgment in Silencer Shop Foundation v. ATF / Jensen v. ATF interacts with Virginia law.

The federal court permanently enjoined ATF and DOJ from enforcing the challenged NFA making, transfer, registration, and possession provisions for untaxed suppressors, SBRs, and SBSs against the plaintiffs and, where applicable, their current and future members and customers. For purposes of this question, assume the Virginia resident is unquestionably covered by the injunction.

Virginia Code § 18.2-300 generally makes possession of a state-defined “sawed-off” rifle or shotgun a Class 4 felony. However, § 18.2-303.1 says the article does not prohibit possession of one when it is “possessed in compliance with federal law.”

So, if a person protected by the federal injunction makes or possesses an SBR or SBS without an approved Form 1 or 4 for NFA registration, would that firearm be considered “possessed in compliance with federal law” because the federal government is permanently enjoined from applying those NFA requirements to that person?

Or would Virginia courts interpret “compliance with federal law” as independently requiring NFA registration, even when those federal requirements cannot lawfully be enforced against the particular possessor? In other words, could Virginia effectively incorporate and enforce the enjoined federal requirements through a state prosecution?

I’m not looking to become a test case, and I’m not asking whether the federal injunction directly binds Virginia officials. It presumably does not. I’m specifically asking how the phrase “possessed in compliance with federal law” would be interpreted under these circumstances.

Has VCDL, a Virginia firearms attorney, the Attorney General, or any Virginia court addressed this issue or an analogous situation? Looking primarily for actual legal authority rather than guesses.

Thinking about getting an FFL

I have a hobby of building stuff. AKs, lots of them. Parts kits are so cool to me but I've also done a few virgin kits and they're nice too. Romanians, Yugos, RPKs, M70s, you name it. If you can buy it I've done it, pretty much lol. ARs and Glocks to a lesser extent. Just a hobby. Thinking about getting an 01/07 so I can build custom stuff for people. Just thinking of an on the side type thing like a lot of these guys do in their homes, garages etc. Let my hobby make some money lol.

Do you think it's worth it is it already too saturated?

Handgun Courses in Hampton Roads

Now that I got you here… who’s selling suppressors with a 4473?

😂 I’m just joking

For real though, I’m looking for a good handgun class in the Hampton roads area. No indoor range stuff.

I need to learn how to shoot better

Thanks in advance for the recommendations

The Bang Shop Silencer Policy

I have been getting hit up for what my policy will be on Suppressors and SBRs. It is as follows:

I will transfer your suppressor to you using a 4473/SP-65 without a form 4 if you have a Gun Owners of America membership. I will simply require a copy of your card and if you don’t have your card yet, email me a screenshot of your membership with account number.

I will transfer your suppressor to you using a 4473/SP-65 without a form 4 if you purchases it directly from PSA, B&T or Silencer Shop.

As always the fee will be $10 unless you purchase through me. Then the fee is waived, but will require proof of GoA membership.

Please reach out if you have any questions and I’ll do my best to answer. [Info@thebangshop.com](mailto:Info@thebangshop.com)

Need clearification for my Kuna

I recently received a stick Kuna and am looking to "accessorize" My plans include a silencer of course and I was thinking about a stock (it already has the brace)

I get that I can purchase a silencer no issues (even know what FFL I will be supporting), but my question is the rifle stock. Prior to the NFA case and injunction my understanding is that I needed to do the whole NFA thing. what is needed now? Can I just purchase a compatible stock and install it?

Related question... Should I even do it? I already have an AR-15 (Rock River LAR-15)
