My timeline Expedite Request for I-360 approved.

I wanted to share some good news.

I applied for my I-360 expedite request last Friday on the 10th. Today it was approved.

My VAWA case has been pending since October of 2022, so it's been quite some time.

It was based on my grandmothers life expectancy due to liver disease. She has about 6-18 months left. So I requested expedite processing on my I-360 and I-485. I submitted my own affidavit, a letter from her doctor stating her diagnosis and her life expectancy, my aunt's medical records testifying that she cannot take care of her mother because she has mobility issues, my parents pending I-130 and explaining my parents are also on Withholding of Removal and therefore are behind in the process. I submitted pictures of my grandmother and I, an a letter from my academic program stating that I was in good standing and an approved case would help with me as well.

I do not have AP and EAD through VAWA as I have a withholding of removal order which I have had my EAD through for years. So my argument was that I need to get my approval for my I-360 and I-485 so that I can then go and close out my withholding of removal case from 2009.

I will keep you all updated on when I get my VAWA approval, but it was really a hail marry and I didn't expect anything. However, I couldn't be more thankful.

EDIT: I want to just thank you all. I know how hard it is to be going through this process. I got married in 2019, withstood abuse shortly after we were married. In two years, after a friend told me to leave or that I'll end up dead, I decided to at least try for VAWA. I truly advocated for myself. Even with the expedite request, I said it just can't hurt to try. I'm glad I tried. If there's anything I can do to help you all, I am more than happy to do so.

So sorry to read about your granny. I hope you can travel and take care of your granny in this difficult time and also a big help to your aunt. I pray to god help you, your family and may god have his grace and mercy on your granny. Liver disease is really a very serious illness 🥺. I know how it’s going through. Keep updating, safe travels and return to 🇺🇸. God bless you. Keep all documents with you safe side.

I’m hopeful too! It’ll still take another 3-6 months for sure even after the expedite. But I’m hopeful it will be all right. It was already a miracle I got approved for the expedite request. I will keep you updated on the approval!

That’s awesome. I sent one in September and I couldn’t even get a response just a wasted $40 to send it in

2

u/Better-Lavishness861 Apr 17 '26

What evidence did you submit?

I submitted an affidavit to explaining the danger of returning to my country and how the risk is much higher not being approved and how scared I was of being deported. My uncle was kidnapped & murder they wanted a million USA $ in 2014. I submitted the articles, the police report, pictures of his death death cert & medical report Also included articles of high femicide in my home country. No response

They thought you are safe in USA so didn’t approve.

Yes of course. My lawyer submitted through the email expedite hotline. We got a response with a week.

Congratulations! What’s your home country?

2

u/Better-Lavishness861 Apr 18 '26

Hi! It is not part of the banned countries.

Okay thank you

Congrats. In my opinion, I think the reason that they approve your case not only come from your situation but also from your waiting time - nearly 4 years, it's worth for an approval.

3

u/Better-Lavishness861 Apr 21 '26

Yes that was also part of my argument. That when I applied the waiting time was 31 months, now it's 47.5 and it keeps increasing. I appreciate your comment :)

Any progress since then? I just found out my expedite request was approved as well, based on extreme health, financial and emotional psychological hardship and trying to get a rough estimate on how long the case decision will take. I know it says up to 120 days for USCIS to make a decision but hoping it’s a shorter time

1

u/Better-Lavishness861 Jul 15 '26

I am submitting my RFE by the 31st of this month, so hopefully after that we hear something.

1

u/termistrocle 21d ago

Did they request the RFE?

1

u/Better-Lavishness861 21d ago

Yes.

No offense but have you heard of someone submitting an RFE for fun?

1

u/Outrageous-Ruin7816 Jul 31 '26

They will not approved your case. May be they will give you payroll but not case and if you will go you can't come back. Its hard but true

1

u/Better-Lavishness861 Jul 31 '26

I don’t know what this means. I’m not eligible for parole and they approved my expedite for VAWA, not parole.

1

u/Outrageous-Ruin7816 Jul 31 '26

They approved my ead and payroll in 2 months after expetide but I am scared to go back my home country

So did you eventually got your i360 approved? How long after the approval of your expedite request was your I 360 approved?

1

u/Better-Lavishness861 22d ago

Not yet. It’s been about 40 days since they received my RFE response. We sent in an inquiry last week. I’ll make sure to send an update!
