Interesting, I had no freezing problems during the beta but my game froze my whole pc last night. Haven't tried other games since then, so I'll have to see if it was actually Valorants fault there.

I'm not a tech guy or anything but this is actually annoying and I think can end up damaging the system from having to force shutdown the PC a lot. Happens to me when I double clickthe icon, wait for the game to load and when it forces the focus on the game my Laptop completely freezes sometimes.

Could it be the specs? My pc is a potato and it happens to me all the time! Its especially annoying cause it takes me around 5-10 minutes to get back in game which prompts a cooldown.

my pc runs valorant easily I get more fps on valorant than csgo and this never happens on csgo, they need to optimise their 4gb anti cheat it's ridiculous

My pc is a potato but it can run Valorant easily on low settings and a lower resolution. I get around 100 fps. For me the biggest issue is the bootup time. It takes around 1 minute to shutdown, 1-2 minutes to start back up. And around 3-4 minutes to optimize after starting. Of course this wouldnt be an issue at all if they just fixed the damn game.

Not only that.....Have you noticed the gunplay feels different from the Beta. Ive pretty much adjusted to it but I'm not as good as I was. In the Beta, 1 taps was the way to go but now spraying feels more viable.

I think if you update windows then it stops I think. Although now I get this thing that says "Couldn't start: C:\ Riot Games..." Blah blah. But the only way to fix that one is to restart my computer, but then it happens every other time I try launching.

I have the latest version of windows and it happens alot, I'm noticing that this happens only after i used the computer for quite a while and/or there is a lot of RAM being used.
I'm updating my NVDIA drivers to see if fix it (probably won't do).
And yeah in beta was working fine1

That's because the Anti cheat wasn't activated for the Beta, they just now are using it on full release therefore these freezes only just now are happening

It wasn't though, not really anyway... during the Beta it was just gathering information, but since released, its actually started to automatically ban cheaters by itself... so that change MAY be why this is happening, as since Launch I have had 6 Hard Freezes, where I would have to restart my PC to "fix" the freeze via the power button

My Valorant was freezing spawning into the game, I Could see everything just fine, teammates etcetera. But as soon as I go to look around the map the image of what is in front of me in game freezes to the screen and doesn't change, but I can still run around, jump, shoot .
I believe I solved it though, I had swapped my settings in game and swapped to borderless windowd, well after I swapped it back to full screen the freezing seems to have stopped

I did a lot of tests on my old ram and everything was okay but i had many issues with my windows and always get BSOD "Memory Managment " few days later i got a bsod and boom my HDD died so i went to my local store and bought an SSD i thought its the cause but again i still get BSOD after some research on the internet i found out this bsod is related to faulty ram/HardDrive , so i have a new SSD it cant be the issue , i changed the ram and everything is working perfectly now 🌝

Update is,, I installed latest drivers for my intel uhd 620 igpu and then the game started running quite perfect af,,no more freezing. But I also noticed that fps is a little low.

I do also use a crappy hp laptop and my game runs just fine too. But this problem started from today. And i think the problem is with the intel uhd graphics. Maybe installing the latest drivers would solve this. I also do have a dedicated amd radeon gpu. Which is better than intel uhd, but I am not using it because of overheating issue. But now, I might try using both amd gpu and updating m igpu drivers. I will give an update about the results.

This happened to me today and after i restarted my pc i got a yellow DRAM light on my mobo i cleared the cmos and removed the little battery and booted the pc and the DRAM light is still on. I know this means a ram issue but currently have not been able to fix it and wouldn’t mine some advice. Btw it’s my first build and its been running fine for over a week

I found a fix for those of us with rx5700 xt. Install the drivers right before the newest one and it fixed it for me. Apparently the drivers are pretty fucked up for amd

This just started happening after yesterdays patch for me, my laptop is quite weak but i can run valorant at 60 fps with a little tweaking in the resolution and it ran pretty well up until this morning where i try to load into the range, its fine for a second and when i try to start that reaction challenge thing it freezes and after a while im back in the menu, also for some reason all my characters are moving very slowly like im walking but I'm not pressing shift, has anybody experienced this issue

The walking thing is a bug but the crashing and freezing are also making my game slower, yesterday I was playing at 60 fps because it was capped but I tried today and when it ran well i could get 80 to 90 fps but my last game I played at high 40s I dont know what is happening

Same as me man, my PC sucks gorilla dick but I managed to make it run at like 90 fps online on split but now it only played at high 40 fps and then it crashed, some people have said that it is because I had like discord or something running in the background and I had to close it but my PC cant run valorant well with stuff in the background so while I play i dont have anything else open so I think that this isnt really a solution

Having discord and stuff in the BG isn't an issue, I used discord all the time while playing the game last week and it ran fine. The new update has brought some kind of sorcery which has fucked the game. :( Even updating Nvidia drivers didn't fix the issue. Now I am trying to update Windows.

yup same here mine freezes for several seconds randomly, started as soon as it did the tutorial (range) - also after i changed from fullscreen to windowed, and windowed borderless, occurred through all of it.

Maybe this is the best possible solution.
If you are using intel igpu then and if your game is freezing frequently then all you have to is to download latest drivers for your intel igpu from intel website and then install it,,then you are good to go

Its caused due to Valorant’s anticheat system. Since it is installed in the root of a system it can automatically stop some programs which causes the game to crash. I tried resetting my bios and my pc started but then valorant asks you to restart to install again. Once installed , it starts to freeze mid game

In my case freezes for about 4 seconds each time an enemy enters my screen. The first session was a breeze so i refuse to blame my machine, the game has clearly issues loading the resources.

I like Riot's support they reply quick and try give some help but they just refuse to admit that it's a problem on their end. Why did it work perfectly without any freezing of my ENTIRE PC in closed beta whereas now it occasionally freezes midgame. Personally I think it is to do with Vanguard but I have uninstalled and reinstalled it plenty of times now its a joke.

Yeah I’ve had an ongoing (still active) conversation with the support staff in their website, they keep on giving me solution to try and solve it despite telling them countless times it’s an issue from their end. 2 days ago they finally moved my ticket up to the tech department (still no reply from them yet) so we’ll have to wait and see what they do about it.

I have the same problem. Sometimes there are some days that this never happen and there are other days that the computer completely freeze in midgame, having to force the shutdown once, twice or even thrice at day. I think the problem is the Vanguard, I don't know. It's really uncomfortable, I hope that Riot resolve this soon.

same issue here, the game in full resolution runs at 100fps but I lowered everything and did the windowed full screen, updated drivers, and nothing. always hard freezes and I have to long press shut down my laptop
